This company is a joke. Freezer is not making ice. NO big deal. Jeff came out and was here for 2 minutes and said he knew what was wrong and would be back when the parts arrived. They shipped the parts to me (almost $690) later and when Jeff came back he installed them and said things were fixed. He did not run tests, did not check to see if the water was getting into the ice maker, nothing. He then told my wife to throw out the first few batches because we did not want what was on his finger. 3 weeks later we were told that a Lead tech would come out, that it would be someone different then before, and they would resolve the issue. Jeff showed up again, and began guessing at what might be wrong. He told me that the parts he replaced were to fix the water issue. Wait. What?! The water from the fridge never broke, he forgot he was fixing the ice machine? He then told me that the compressor was bad and we were out of freon. If that were the case, the entire unit would not keep cool and would be frozen over. He then proceeds to say he is going to hook up some gauges to determine if he was right or if it was something else. It was then that I asked him if he was going to clean up after his mess unlike the last 2 times he was in my house. He asked what mess and then took a step back from the puddle of slush that he was standing in that he brought from outside. Then I pointed out all of the salt footprints he was making throughout my house and asked if he had booties to put on, to which he laughed and told me simply no. Maybe it is my fault for not asking him to remove his shoes when he walked in, or my fault for assuming someone that does home repair service has common sense. So he walks out of the house, to go get gauges or whatever he needs to do the tests, gets in his van and leaves. Does not say a word, just drives away. I called Mr. Appliance and they couldn't have cared less. We will review everything and call back to see if and when we can get someone back out. It is January 10 and we started this process the 1st week of November. This company is a joke, overpriced, and will waste your time guessing what is wrong until they just stop trying or resolve the issue. I wish that I could say that my experience was unique, but after reading all the other reviews, it seems as if this is the norm for this company. 0 stars. Only gave 1 because I had to. $700 in and still no resolution.

I had a terrible experience with Mr. Appliance of Columbus (614-524-4629) for what should have been a straightforward dishwasher repair. The saga started when my dishwasher malfunctioned in early June 2023. I contacted Mr. Appliance to schedule a service appointment. The first technician came on June 13th and determined that the motor needed replacement. This was approved. He returned on June 19th to install the motor, but then realized a chopper assembly also needed replacement. That part was ordered at no cost. However, the technician warned that the heating element was failing too. I approved replacement of the element for $153.59. Then nothing happened for weeks because the heating element was backordered. I insisted the technician at least install the motor so I could use the dishwasher in the meantime. When the technician returned, he said he couldn't detach the old water hose due to oxidation (something he could have determined on the first visit). So again, no repairs were made. On his next visit, the technician didn't have the new water hose needed. Throughout this, the technician's car broke down twice and he got sick, which the office made him personally explain to me. On the sixth attempt, the technician couldn't get the motor in. Two other technicians were sent on a different date. The heating element still wasn't in stock. The original technician was sent back to install the chopper, but he didn't understand why the office said he would bring the heating element when he didn’t receive it. Clearly, communication between the technicians and office was poor. Every single visit, the technician complained loudly over the phone to the office about what needed to be done. Despite Mr. Appliance's "Leave No Trace" policy, the technicians always parked their cars in the driveway, blocking everyone else, and none used protective shoe covers or cleaned up after themselves. Appointment scheduling was another frustration. The office determines routes at the end of each day regardless of customer availability. I'd get a text at 5PM when to expect them. For one appointment, even though I received the text, the technician didn’t show up. I called the office and they said they forgot to let me know. After months of nonsense, I asked for my heating element money back since it was never installed. They refused because they couldn't get reimbursed by their supplier. Finally, the owner agreed to send two technicians on September 14th – three month after the first visit - to complete everything. The technicians never showed up and the owner hasn't returned my call. This has been the most unprofessional and dishonest business I've ever dealt with. I'm out $153.59 and while I'm sure they'll offer to install the element after reading this, I will never let them back in my home. I strongly advise avoiding this company.

Do not use Mr Appliance in columbus OH. They will over charge and over promise. Rude and unprofessional. Once something is fixed (this can take weeks) they leave the project unfinished... found out the hot water hose wasn't plugged in, dryer hose was unplugged although fixing the washer. Please save yourself from the same frustration we have had.

I hired them to figure out why my dishwasher wasn't draining. I was told it was likely a drain pump issue. I decided not to have them fix it because it would cost about the price of a new dishwasher. Later I figured out the problem myself that the drain hose was partially clogged. I used a snake and fixed it myself. I called Mr. Appliance asking for a refund for the diagnostic fee since they diagnosed it incorrectly (they would have had me pay a few hundred to fix a drain pump that wouldn't have even fixe the problem!). Mr. Appliance refused any refund even though the "service" they provided of diagnosing the issue was simply an incorrect diagnosis.

The service man was polite and highly skilled. He was not punctual and it took three attempts for him to show up at the correct time. This company's main marketing is they will show up on time or call to reschedule. On the first scheduled day I called 30 minutes after the time range had passed and was told he got behind and wouldn't show up that day. On the second scheduled day I was given a specific time. He showed up early and left before we could answer the door. I called the company right away and asked that he return but they wouldn't do it even though he had just left our house. The third time he was on time and did excellent work.

I had problems with both my washer and my dryer. Turns out my washer was not wringing out all the water so the dryer wasn't able to get it all dry. I was able to get my dryer working but when they came out I had to pay for 2 service calls. I asked cant you wrap it into one, its one visit and they said no I called for two different things. In the past I had them work on my dishwasher and refrigerator and that was one service call and they said they do not do it like that anymore. He could not fix my washing machine and could not find the serial number. I had to pay him two service calls for nothing he fixed and had to buy a new washing machine.

My LG refrigerator died 2 days before Christmas and I used this company because I was desperate and of all the companies I called, they could get me in the fastest. Booking the appointment went pretty smoothly but that's when it all fell apart. The Technician that came was not particularly friendly and was only there for 10 minutes tops. He didn't use any test equipment to diagnose the problem, he just took some of the cover panels off and looked inside. He told me that the unit could not be fixed and that I should call LG because it was only 5 years old. I did call LG and they sent their own tech out and they found that the problem was with the compressor which they replaced and now the refrigerator works just fine. When I called to complain I was told that since my refrigerator was still under warranty, they could not do the work because they cannot do LG warranty repair. That is not what the technician told me. He told me "it could not be fixed". When I made the appointment, I told them this this was an LG product. Now maybe they could not know for sure if my unit was still under warranty but I feel like they should have known that it might be a possibility and if this company cannot do warranty repair work, I should have been told that up front and I was not told that. I basically paid this company $80 for them to tell me to call someone else. I will never use them again.

I called to get an appointment with no luck someone from the office called me 2 days after my initial call to set up one. I asked for an estimate before they came out no luck with that either. They had all of my information in their system wrong. I told them up front I didn't want them to get here and the cost be the same to by a new dryer....but that is what happened . I would never use this service again. Plus I never got my receipt for payment.

My initial review of this vendor was positive. I should have waited because their band-aid solution did not work, we were sold a $327 part that we could not return (even for a restocking fee), the service tech on calls 2 and 3 was rude to my mother-in-law and ultimately, we are buying a new refrigerator.

With just the fiddling around he did with it, he got it to work better than I did. I was have trouble with the gas igniters firing. He assured us that we weren't in any danger, but that some point we'd have to replace it. The former repair person (another company) said we were in danger of it exploding. This gentleman was able to explain our range and I feel comfortable with his service. He didn't stay any longer than he needed to, but was hoping he could help. Wished I could remember his name -- very competent. Think I will stick w/this range until I'm forced to purchase. I do not like the new ranges (gas).

Service Rep, Jim Kirk, diagnosed the problem and identified the solution on Monday; then ordered the parts needed to make the repair, then returned on Thursday to do the job. ON TIME. Was very efficient, and did not show any wasted effort. Knew the right procedures to fix the problem. Allowed me to print a coupon from their website for $10.00 off the total cost of the job. Overall time about 2 hours, it would have been less but he also leveled the doors and made sure the frige was working before he left.

I called them because my freezer wasn't keeping food frozen. Called them on Monday morning, hoping someone could come out the same day, they told me they could do Tuesday - they don't do same day appointments. I was told that someone would get in touch with me later in the day if they were able to work me in on the same day, otherwise they would be out Tuesday morning. Later in the day on Monday someone called to tell me that they couldn't come Tuesday morning, that they could come Tuesday afternoon. They sent out a picture and a name in an email of who would be coming, which was very nice. The repair person that came out, Scott, was very professional, kept everything nice and clean. He looked at the refrigerator and told me that I needed a fan motor. We set up the appointment for 06/20 since I was going to be out of town before then. He told me that it would be between 8 and 12. I called to check on the appointment, they told me it would be a different time - sometime in the afternoon. He came out to do the work, everything turned out fine and I was pleased with the work. There seems to be a lack of communication between who makes the appointments and scheduling who comes out.

As the only appliance repair in Central Ohio to service Samsung (or seemingly that way as three other companies contacted refused the job), they have you over a barrel from the beginning. And considering we do about 15 loads of laundry per week in my home, we were particularly over a barrel.
The 'process' of how they run their business is great, especially appointment setting and confirmation of the exact appointment time. The technician was polite and on-time. The price was outrageous. The part online is $27; the price of the part as quoted by the technician was $98, and the total cost of the job was $310. In total, from the time of arrival, to moving the dryer, to diagnosis, to discussing the issue and quote, to repair, to replacing the dryer to its normal location, to the time the technician left the house was less than 1/2 hour. Just to turn around and walk away without doing the repair was $75. So, if you do the math, that's about $210 labor on a 1/2 hour job...giving them the benefit of the doubt on the cost of the component. So yes, $420 / hour labor. I'm sure it's not like that for all jobs, but you never know until they show up...for which they'll get you to pay $75 alone no matter what the outcome.

In picking the thermostat I used the manuals for the two recommended. It was quickly instatled and seeme to be
working fine during hot seascon. During cold it heated the house up in the early evening but not in the morning. A first visit
from std service call didn;t resolve the problem. The next person checked every adustable setting (there were many); changing
about five and told me what they were, leaving a written record with furnance. That was better but still erratic. Next call season
a differnt person was selected to complement the first. He spend even more time -- both reviewing the first' work and considering what else t do. I no longer remember what he changed but since then there are no problems.
The service visits take as long as is required. One service person decided leaves needed to be removed from compressor amd it took
the better part of hour. Routinely I am advised about points I should bring up on next service.

I bought a washer for $300 it started to leak I was hoping it could be fixed for a reasonable price. But the cost to fix was going to be higher than just getting another. Not anything to do with this guy he was great, worked carefully in a very tight space to understand the problem. He did not guess at it, he pulled it out took I apart and knew the problem well. I hate when repair guys use their and ldquo;experienceand rdquo; to GUESS at my problem and then still charge a fee. This guy did NOT do that he took it all the way apart and LOOKED at the problem and then gave me an estimate THAT's WHAT I WANT FOR PAYING AN SERVICE FEE and ldquo;SERVICEand rdquo;! Love this guy!

My refrigerator was not remaining cold, temperature was fluctuating. I called Mr. Appliance on a friend's recommendation and they were able to come the next day. The technician was very neat and explained everything he was checking. No big repair was determined to be necessary at the time. The recent storms and power outage was presumed to be the problem. The temperature on the refrigerator has been fine since. The technician reminded me that if I call back in so many days for the same issue, there would be no service call charge. I appreciated that.

My Samsung front loading washer would not drain. Mr. Appliance was one
of the few places to even work on Samsung appliances and was very prompt
when arriving with a courtesy call before hand and friendly when
calling for an appointment. A gentleman gave me a quote and told me what
was wrong. He had to order the part and we scheduled a day to get it put
in after that. I paid a deposit and the rest on the day the part was
replaced. My only complaint was they are a little slow on cashing my check; however, that was minor and
service was excellent and price was fair. Service technician was polite
and did not try to up sell me, which I like. Would use again:)
