Builder stated vacant lots next to us was "green space". We did not confirm and the builder built another home on lot. Stated we could have changes and additions at his cost. Confirmed later, he charged us more than his cost. After last draw from bank was given to him, we could never agree on what was included in the final "punch out". We funded final finish ourselves. Assumed builder's part time position as a minister would create a better relationship and result than it did. As always, get everything in writing, confirm all representations made by the builder, define everything that is included "punch out", expect builder or his employee to be on the job site whenever a subcontractor is working on your house. Get a list of "each" previous house the builder has completed and be willing to contact, interview and expect the same results on your house. Also make sure they are are listed with the BBB. We would not rehire or recommend this builder.
