Did a great job. Took a week. Painted whole house. Doing touch ups here soon! Would use again.

Tim & Ben, came and walked with me while I explained what I wanted done, They did their job and was very polite and professional.

Had to have them back to repaint and caulking.  Has satisfied with repaint and caulking, got paint on wood work and carpet.  Phoned them and 2 times, they did not show up as promised and settled disputed by returning 1/2 of charges.

They painted the exterior of my home, my pole barn and fencing.  They came out once and he came inside my home and looked at how I liked colors.  He then went and got a book of swatch samples and was very helpful in picking out what color would work.  He was able to help come up with one standard color and trim and it looks phenomenal.  My pole barn is 60x40 and I have a lot of fencing also. 

I'm happy to report that, after reading my belated review on Angie's List, I was contacted last year by Lisa of Custom Colors.  She indicated that she had not gotten my phone messages and was very apologetic to learn of my bad experience.  She wanted me to know that, after reading my review, she had done some investigating on her own and confirmed that the wife/girlfriend was on the job site.  The employee had been fired.  (For the record, I felt badly about that because that wasn't my intention.  But honestly, even if he hadn't brought someone with him the work he performed was substandard.  So I guess the company did what it had to do.) She asked if the company could come back out next year (this spring, since it was too late in the season last year when we spoke).  I agreed and Lisa told me she would call me back in May, 2012 to set things up.  I thanked her for calling and told her that, if everything was resolved to my satisfaction, I would certainly update my post on Angie's List to reflect that. I hung up, though, wondering if Lisa would actually remember to call me back this spring but, sure enough, she did...right on time at the beginning of May.  We agreed that the work should start on May 7th.  I mentioned to Lisa that the company had power washed my deck before painting it the first time.  Since there was now dirt and peeling paint on the deck, and because I don't own a power washer, I asked if their company would again power wash the deck before re-painting.  She agreed that they would and, in fact, someone came out to power wash the deck the week before the painting was scheduled.  They also power washed my house!  I was a little concerned because I thought it was a mistake and that they would expect payment.  But when I called Lisa she assured me that they had done it as a customer courtesy because the employee noticed the house was dirty.  Needless to say, I was quite surprised and pleased!  I asked her if they could give me an estimate to power wash my vinyl fence, which is very dirty and quite large because it encircles a pie shaped cul-de-sac lot.  She called me back with a price of $189 and I agreed to have them wash it when they returned to re-paint the deck. 
The employees started the deck last week as planned but, due to several days of rain, there was a short delay in completing it.  Yesterday (Friday) was a beautiful day and they came back out to finish the job.  I am very pleased with the result!  The deck was still drying when I arrived home from work and the two men had moved on to power washing the fence.  The fence was about 1/4 done and they had run out of time and gas in the power washer.  But they promised to return next Monday to finish the job.  I have no doubt that they will but, if not, I'll update this post.  What they HAVE done on the fence so far looks great.  Both employees were very personable and eager to see that I was satisfied with their efforts.  In fact, as we were talking one of the men glanced over and noticed a spot on the deck that needed a retouch so he reopened the paint can and took the time to go over it before leaving.
I've dealt with enough companies over the years to know that even the best will have a bad day occasionally.  But, once my dissatifaction came to their attention via Angie's List, Lisa and the other employees of Custom Colors have bent over backwards to make sure that I was satisfied.  And I am.

Overall we were very happy with Custom Colors. We had gotten multiple quotes, and they were middle of the road price-wise (we often go with middle bid), but I was impressed with how thorough the estimate was and that they offered to help with minor repairs they encountered while prepping and painting. I was also pleased that they had a 4-yr warranty vs  the standard 2 or 3. We have a historic house and had them paint our entire front porch, the box gutters, three dormers, four exterior doors, and all the garage trim. Five colors were involved, but only one color change from what was previously applied. The painting was well-done and professional (and I'm picky!). We did have one piece of trim that was painted the wrong color and some other minor clean-up issues, but they were extremely responsive and returned quickly to resolve these issues to my satisfaction. The painters were friendly and helpful. We will use them again.

We think we spent around $500 on that service.  At the time we had some issues that they took care of, but we also have a warranty on an outdoor wooden deck that after a year now is not holding up too well.  We haven’t followed up with them yet.  It is a local company that is close to our home.  They were prompt in coming to give us an estimate and they followed up on the problems that we had at the time the work was done last year and that was fine.  Now, we have a new issue, which is the painted ceiling and we have not contacted them as yet, so we don’t think we can fairly answer questions very well.  The person we talked to and made the agreement with was not the person that actually did the work, so on one hand the professionalism was fine, but the quality of work was left a little to be desired.

Custom colors did a tremendous job. We have an old farm house that is full of custom trim that is old and detailed and with precision and diligent they made everything look wonderful! Thank you for your hard work and professionalism.

Crew was prompt, efficient, careful, and pleasant. They arrived the day before the painting to power-wash/prep surfaces and returned promptly the following morning, as promised to paint. Painting was completed in one day. Good job cleaning up afterwords.

They did a great job. They came out and gave us an estimate and it was the best price that we had gotten. They were professional and cleaned up after themselves. Would recommend them and I have already.
