+ -1 moreThe work was shoddy, not completed and 1 of 3 bridal wreath shrubs, planted side-by-side, was totally mangled. They barely touched most of the other shrubs, did not clean up all of their mess, and said they could not trim bushes further because that would kill them. When I pointed this out to them, Mrs. Salyers (Chris' wife) said again that would kill them. SIDE NOTE: my husband has dementia and at this point was getting agitated with the whole process and conversation. At this point, I was also done with them. Mrs. Salyers (Chris' wife) said "Well give her the bill!' (Which was already prepared). I told them I would meet them in front with the check. After they left (and I had somewhat calmed down from seeing the mess they had made) I realized that I had been ripped off - They arrived at 5pm and left at 8pm - 3 hours work and I had paid them $400. This all took place on Friday, May 12. I tried to stop payment on the check on the following Monday but it had already cleared my account.
Description of Work: Based on ad running for 2 years in local paper (Newark Advocate), I requested and received quote of $400-$500 (rate of $100 per hour) to trim/prune 17 bushes/shrubs, clean up and haul away.
