It's been 6 months, and we do not have any problems. Before this, we had leaking in the kitchen. As far as cost, we got 5 quotes, and they were the cheapest. This concerned me at first, but they had the best reviews on Angies list, so we went with them and were not disappointed. Their crew was quick, but they did kill a few plants though. If you go with them, you will not be disappointed. I might flagged your favorite plants though.

He shouldn't have brought his dog. Even when he worked across the street, he brought his dogs there, too. My dogs went crazy for two days. I asked him not to bring the dog, but he brought it anyway. He is an expert at roofing. He just isn't very professional. I love dogs and have two, but I don't bring them to work with me.

I found them on Angie’s List. When the guy came out, I am not sure if he actually got up on the roof to do the estimate or if he just did it from the ground. It is only because he did not mention the 2 skylights I have. I think that would probably need to be replaced. He was behind on doing the roof by 4-5 weeks out. I decided thinking I would just wait until spring because I didn’t want someone up on the roof trying to do the roof in December. It didn’t seem like a good idea in Northeast Ohio to be doing a roof that far out and they would probably end up putting it off until spring anyhow, so I will just wait and get deflated prices in the spring. I wasn’t here when he came, and I didn’t ask him. It was a miscommunication, and I had forgotten that I had made 2 appointments for the same time. I was away from the house, but I did call him and we discussed it on the phone. He seemed pretty knowledgeable. I am sure if he had come out we would have definitely discussed the skylight problem. Their estimate was $5255. There was nothing in particular that I liked or disliked about them. If I needed to, I would get another quote from them in the future.

I have read on many reviews here that the owner does all of the estimates, but I worked with a different gentleman. The punctuality and professionalism grades of B are from the back and forth that I had with him, not John. He came to discuss the work that I wanted and wrote the estimate based on a coupon, but didn't get on the roof at all. He felt very strongly that my chimney work should be done before the roof, so he said he would hold my paperwork until I got back in touch. I got someone to agree to do the chimney by the end of September, but prior to that, John Barbera called to check in on when they could do the roof -- I explained the hold, and he seemed a bit surprised, as if he hadn't heard the backstory. He was happy to wait, and told me to confirm with him, not the gentleman that did the estimate, when the chimney was finished. The day they did the work, John called to tell me that the supplier had dug huge ruts in my yard, and that he had contacted the supplier and initiated the claims process. That was a nightmare, but it was the supplier's self-insurer, not BHI. I did get a claim check for that a few weeks after. John also expressed concern with the chimney work, and took some pictures that he shared with me so that I could contact the company. He did a great job of explaining it all to me. The only thing that disappointed me about the work was that when I went into my attic to clean up, it looked as if the roofers cut the holes for the vents, then allowed anything and everything to drop into my house. I fully understood that I would have lots of dust and debris, but there were full-sized shingles that were allowed to drop into the new vent holes, which made cleanup much more difficult. I also noticed a week or so after the work was done that it appears that the shingles that dropped off slid down my screens. If my screens were nice, I would have called back, but they were previously damaged and aren't in the best shape. There are also shingle-marks on the siding of my house -- it's like they just let stuff slide down the house/screens instead of tossing it off for the clean up. BHI should recommend that screens be removed prior to their arrival.

They did a good job on all of the services as well as the clean-up. I would definitely use them again.

This company did not provide a solid engineered solution nor do they back the work they perform. The crews lack supervisory oversight to ensure the work is done well and clean-up is incomplete. We continue to have issues with the roofing/ventilation solution they sold us. They pay you lip service, but are not willing to correct an error unless it involves a couple of nails and a caulk gun. We have had at least one contractor tell us we need to replace to entire roof to fix the issues. We will not to business with company again and I am very disappointed that we relied on a good Angies list rating to guide my decision to hire this firm.

Everything was incredible. They arrived promptly, completed the work in two days, and they cleaned up well. Most importantly, the roof looks great.

I am extremely please with the work done by John and his crew. Barbara Home Improvement was recommended to me by one of our city inspectors as being an honest, good quality roofing company, after I was ripped off by another roofer. We hired John to repair our roof after having issues with another contractor’s poor quality when our less than 1 year old roof started to leak. I can’t say enough good things about John and Barbara Home Improvement. He gave me a fair estimate for the repair & fixed the roof. The crew was prompt, professional, and left the yard spotless. John knew that I was going to court against the original roofer, so he allowed me to take photos of the tear off and explained in detail what the issues were. On top of that he even agreed to come to small claims court and testify as my expert witness. I won the judgment against the other company with his help. You don’t find many people in business today that will go that extra mile for you and give you the kind of service that this company did for us. I can whole heartedly recommend John to everyone I know and will continue to do business with Barbara Home Improvement in the future. I wish I had found this company 18 months ago!

John has done both roof replacement and repair. With all the torrential rains, i developed a tiny leak. He came out on a Sunday morning and found where the water was probably coming in (end shingle was lifted enough that water was working it's way in. He sealed the shingles and put a piece of metal where it appears the water was splashing up from a gutter. He always goes the extra mile when I call him.

They had the most reasonable price, and they were not pushy salesmen. If there is a need, I would use them again in the future too.

They were great to work with. We thought they would have to just tear off the shingles, so the original estimate was $7000, but they discovered that a lot of the wood underneath was rotten, so they had to replace the sub-roof. It basically doubled the price, and that wasn?t anything that they could have known giving an estimate ahead of time. They got the work done very quickly - they were done in two and a half days. We had a small leak in our living room ceiling, and I waited a couple of years to call them. However, as soon as I called, he came right out and kind of figured out where it might be leaking. He asked me to get in touch with him again in the fall because he was of the opinion that it had to do with snow melting. He got out and did some caulking. It is hard to know if it was a result of their doing the work up there or not. I am hoping this leak will get taken care of. I probably would use them again in the future.

The employee was very thorough and he made a recommendation to me about purchasing gutter guards so the gutter's especially in the back of the house wouldn't get so clogged. It was a very pleasant experience.

We were very happy with Barbera Home Improvement Company. The workers did a great job. They were very thorough. They were just really very responsive. They found out a couple of areas that was covered with moulds when they were working in the attic. They were concerned and showed it to us and so we were able to take care of it on time. They were very good about cleaning everything up. They always showed up on time. They certainly weren’t the cheapest but I’m sure that their prices were reasonably fair for what they did. I got what I paid for. I would absolutely use them again in the future if required.

I rate them high overall. Their price was very good. They did an excellent job. I called them in the morning to do the job and they finished the work by noon. Mt neighbor and niece used them for a roof. The owner is a really nice guy. They finished the job quickly. They cleaned up after themselves.

I felt comfortable with the company, but they wanted to use a chemically treated newspaper type of insulation for the work in my home, and I wasn't comfortable with the material. For this reason, I went in a different direction.

They came out and did the repair and came back the next week and readdressed the problem. The wood is tougue and groove and initally they did not use the right kind of wood. They replaced the one piece of wood and there was a big gap. I called the company and explained the piece of wood that they replaced was unacceptable. They said that they didn't make that wood anymore. I called the lumber company and they did make the wood still. They ended up getting the wood and replaced it. The owner later apologized.

We were very impressed with the quality of work and the interaction with the staff. For the roof work, they completed the tear-off and installation in a single day. The staff was punctual, courteous, and professional. We would gladly recommend them to any of our friends.

The price was great and they got it done in a day and they were really helpful. Most of the guys didn't speak English and were Mexican. The owner came out and he was really friendly, cooperative and responsive. He was great. I would definitely have them come out and do work for us.

They were good. They were able to schedule the work. Several companies I contacted wouldn't even come out because they were too busy. They did everything in pretty much one day.

He is very good. He lives right in the neighborhood, and he comes the same day. I have not had him out here, but he has done work in my parents? house. He does it twice a year. I looked up on the list and saw that he was nearby to where they live. He does a very good job promptly. When it is done, my dad stops worrying about it. I would continue to use him and recommend him in the future.

I called explaining what I wanted done. John was in the area and stopped over thirty minutes later to give me an estimate. The following week the work was done. John and his installers were very professional and performed the work in a timely, efficient manner. They kept me informed every step of the way.
