Home Healthcare - In-home Services
My elderly father was in a rehab facility for a few months due to dizziness, weakness, and frequent falls. When he returned home, my parents needed some assistance with daily activities. My mom has spinal stenosis and cannot walk long distances or stand for long. Bonnie Warren from Comfort Keepers met with us at the rehab facility. She requires that she make a home visit before sending the caregivers there - to make sure it is a safe environment for her employees. The caregivers can assist with getting in and out of bed/wheelchair (transfer), but will not actually lift the client (for the caregiver's safety). A Comfort Keepers caregiver has been coming to their home for 6 weeks now. At first, my parents had someone coming twice a day; once in the morning, and once in the evening. The minimum time for each visit is 2 hours. Some agencies require a longer visit. They've decided once a day is often enough for now. For the first couple of weeks, it was confusing because there were different caregivers coming all the time - they were all good, but it was hard to keep explaining to new people every day what needed to be done. Now though, they have one regular caregiver, and she is wonderful. She is prompt, pleasant, efficient and caring. She knows the routine and gets right to work. Caregivers call-in to Comfort Keepers when they arrive, and again when they leave. They call from the client's home phone. This ensures that someone is there - for the safety of both the patient and the caregiver, in case something happened that she could not get to my parents' home. So far, all caregivers have arrived, and right on time. The caregiver daily puts Ted hose (support stockings) on my father, makes a tasty and nutritious breakfast, provides companionship, and washes the breakfast dishes. She provides other services as needed, as washing/vacuuming floors, laundry, and stopping at CVS to pick up prescriptions. Having a Comfort Keepers caregiver here also allows my mother to run an occasional errand or meet a friend, knowing my dad will be safe and in good hands.

They are very nice and accommodating. They are able to take you to appointments and made having a broken foot a lot more manageable. I am very satisfied with their services and will continue to use them.
