1st Choice Plumbing

I hired Kevin to come and fix the plumbing in my shower and cap a gas line. Everything went well at first, but quickly ran into issues. Due to limited access to my shower plumbing, some tile had to be ripped out. I had the shower retiled, and Kevin came back out to install new trim in the shower. When installing the shower valve, he cracked my brand-new tile. Kevin promised to pay for the tile repair. However, once my contractor finished the work, Kevin is somehow impossible to contact. I have tried calling and texting to no response. He still owes me $100. I will never recommend Kevin to anyone or use his services again.

Kevin performed the work in 2 visits. The first visit he installed the dishwasher, plumbing and electrical. The installation appears to be good as I have no complaints with the first visit. The 2nd visit he replaced the cracked main stack with PVC. He did a good job solving the problem with the main stack but as soon as he left my tenants started having problems. My tenants contacted me with the problem and I then contacted Kevin to see what could be done. I told Kevin about the problem and asked him if he could go out to the site and check it out. He agreed to come out and look at it but never showed up. Meanwhile my tenants had to use the bathroom in paper sacks because the drain was backing up. I later got a voicemail from Kevin saying that he was in the country with no signal and couldn't call and that the problem i was having was probably the drain backing up and that it had nothing to do with him and that it was just a coincidence. Well, I'm not stupid as I explained to him that has to be the mother of all coincidences. So a day later which is an eternity when you can't use the bathroom in your house, we had Drain Busters come out and unclogged the drain and confirmed that what blocked the drain was the debris from cutting away at the cast iron main stack pipe had fallen down and blocked the drain. What really upset me was 1) he didn't show up like he said he would to check on the problem and 2) he told me it was the probably the drain backing up when I never told him that was the issue. One of my tenants did not accurately explain to me the problem so I didn't relay this accurately to Kevin. - This tells me that he already knew what he did probably backed the drain up. It would have been just fine with me if he came out and looked at it and said your gonna need to call somebody to get the drain taken care of but he was less than honest. There is no way I will ever do business with him again.

My pump broke on a Saturday evening. They came out right away, gave me a quick estimate and fixed it for us by the end of that they. They were great, but they price was a tad high, the work was worth it though.

Better than expected. Usually the customer doesn't get a break in situations like this. First choice took care of the customer.

I had a leak that I could not seem to find the problem. Called several compaines for a quote during a two week time frame and 1st Choice was the only one that replied. The day after requesting a quote and they were able to repair . The problem was more involved that I had expected and they were able to repair with no issue. The ceiling underneath was a drop down which was a big help, but they did have a tight work area. The brass pipe under the toilet had a small crack, they had to cut it out and replace it and reconneted everything with no additional leaks.They also installed a 3" toilet flange and reset toilet. I was very satisfied with the service,

They were very pleasant. I would use them in the future. The quality of their work was good. They were personable people. I thought their price was fair.

After purchasing the water heater, we had a difficult time confirming the installation date; it was supposed to be the next day, but that wasn't confirmed until about 8:00 pm the evening before the installation day, which made it harder to plan for someone to be home to meet the plumber (both my wife and me work during the day). Kevin delivered and installed the new water heater the day following purchase. He arrived on time and got the new heater installed very quickly. Unfortunately, one of the new joints he sweated leaked. The leak was discovered about 5:00 pm that day, 1st Choice was notified immediately, but they refused to come out that evening to fix it. So I had to take the next day off work to meet another 1st Choice plumber, Ron, so he could repair the leaking joint. No apology for my inconvenience was offered.

I would definitely get an estimate from this company before using them. I have used them on other occasions and they have performed great service for a reasonable price. However, in this situation I though they were priced on the high side.

Great, easy experience from start to finish. We called First Choice Plumbing and they sent Mike Noel out promptly to give us an estimate. He was professional and got the job done quickly - which is important when it comes to plumbing. We would definitely hire them again.

My water heater sprung a leak last night. I made an appointment with Sears and they were out the next day. When they came out they told me it wasn't knew, but it could be repaired. They simply repaired a valve and it saved me $600. I was very appreciative of his honesty. I am a single woman and that is why I joined Angie's List, so I would know who to call. I had a very good experience with 1st Choice.

They were very responsive and showed up on time. The outdoor faucet repair was a last minute thing that they repaired on a Sunday morning. It needed a quick repair because of the freezing temperatures. When they were in the basement fixing the faucet, they identified the leaking water heater. Replacing the water heater was some preventative maintenance because it was approximately ten years old. The ceiling leak was also a tricky one that I thought was coming from the shower. Mike showed me that the toilet was leaking from the tank. Price wise, I might have found cheaper, but I also would have risked some poor quality work. A cheaper plumber also would have been less responsive.

A PREVIOUS INSTALLATION BY SEARS (9 YEARS AGO) WAS UNSATISFACTORY, SO I CHECKED OUT THIS COMPANY WITH ANGIE'S LIST (ONLY 2 REPORTS) . I ASKED THE CONTRACTOR TO EXAMINE SITE IN ADVANCE OF MY PURCHASE TO GIVE COST OF ESTIMATES TO HELP ME DECIDE WHAT TYPE OF HEATER (GAS OR ELECTRIC) TO BUY. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL.

THEY WERE VERY GOOD. I PLAN TO USE THEM AGAIN IN THE FUTURE.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! INITIALLY REFERRED BY AON HOME WARRANTY TO FIX A LEAKY PIPE. WE ASKED FOR A QUOTE ON INSTALLING A WASH BASIN, WHICH WOULD REQUIRE INSTALLATION OF NEW WATERS LINES AND CONNECTION TO AN EXISTING DRAINAGE PIPE. HIS QUOTE WAS VERY REASONABLE, THE WORK WAS DONE QUICKLY, AND WE ARE VERY PLEASED. THIS COMPANY DESERVES A GOOD ANGIE'S LIST REFERRAL!
