BLUE DOLPHIN FIBERGLASS POOLS

At first with estimate, owner was very pleasant & charismatic. As soon as we signed the contract and made a substantial down payment, things went downhill from there.  Dates promised for work were unfulfilled. We signed the contract in early May, and weren't able to swim until late summer.  Items that were to be included were substituted for similar items (poorer quality) or altogether not what owner promised.  We were to have four deck jets set in concrete. Instead of telling us ahead of time that they didn't have them, they went ahead and poured the concrete.  Then we were offered jets that could be installed in the landscape.  We decided we didn't need 4, so we agreed to 2 and received credit for 2. After long periods of contact by email and empty promises, we only received 1 deck jet to date.  We were told the supplier didn't have 2 and would get the second one the following week.  That was almost a year ago.  Also, in the fall when installation was finally finished, had to press them to come and close the pool (which 1st open and 1st close was included in price).  They showed up very late fall, left leaves and other debris in pool and covered it with a dirty old used tarp and leaking water bags. (A new cover/water bags were also included in the price.  Eventually, again after many emails and threats, the new cover & water bags were left on our front porch.  Due to the poor closing the first year, it took a lot of work to get the pool clean and open for the summer. The bottom line...We love the pool (Viking) itself and have no complaint about the product. The owner (Ryan Toneff) has poor business practices, communicates poorly, and misrepresents accessories that are to be included in the pool package. I filed a complaint with the BBB and when I did, I saw that  they revoked their accreditation and gave them an F+ rating.  Buyers beware!

They started the beginning of July and it took until almost Labor Day for the work to be completed. Their logistics are very poor. in managing and scheduling and so on. They would tell me what they were going to do and then work one day and take two days off. It went on and on and on with them. The one saving grace was that the concrete contractor they used was good and I would recommend him to anyone. The finished product is beautiful but my main concern was the time factor. They threw in a lot of things but I think they were just trying to keep me happy. The quality was excellent. They are still not finished with the product; there are still things that they have neglected that they have not done.

Well I filed a lawsuit against them. And they were paid! I WON this lawsuit. The pool company paid me $12,000.00. And the pool shell manufacture paid $1,000.00. The bottom line is/was, that I was right and they were Wrong! They botched the job. And ran from it. Well it all caught up to them. Don't use these people! And with any pool company, don't pay them the last payment until their done and your happy! Make sure you owe them at least 50%. Or they may not come back to finish the job! And the BBB was worthless in this case! I think he has a friend that works there!

In the beginning, they dug the hole and installed the pool in the same day.(fun 2 watch) Then they spent around 2 days back filling and plumbing the pool. The 4th day of the installation they put our spa in, but then we had 3 days of rain which put a little damper on things. I guess overall it was a good experience, but I think what makes me most comfortable referring friends and family is the fact that Pat was working with all the guys everyday. He wasn't sitting in some office, and thats how we got refereed as well.

They tell you a great story to get you to sign a contract. Have many ways to get you a loan if you need it. But RUN from this company. They screwed us good. We were told it would take 3 to 4 weeks to complete, lie, it took over 3 months and the weather was great. They never finished the pool or the contract and wanted the rest of there money before being finished. They left us high and dry. They did a UGLY job. A very poor job. The pool leaks and they will not even come back to look at it or fix it. We had to have it fixed ourselves at a cost of over $1,500.00. We were told that the pool was not properly installed. We have had more problems with it. It is ugly and the concrete work is poor and ugly also. The pool is not to code. No matter what Pool company you get, make sure that THEY get the building permit, not you. And do not give them more then 10% down and up to 50 % when the pool is 90% done. Make sure that the pool company is owed 50% when finished and then don't pay until HAPPY
