Not only took excellent care of all pets and the house, also took one dog to the vet when an injury occurred and was able to overnight ship some very important items to us on vacation that were left behind by mistake. Left a very comprehensive document of all services performed for the pets and a diary of what the boys were up to every day.

Highly recommended. Mary Ann is very professional, reliable and thorough. She came to my house a week before we left for vacation to discuss how to take care of our 3 cats and what other services we wanted (watering plants, bringing in mail, etc). She asked questions that hadn't occurred to me, like what measures we wanted to pre-authorize in case of a medical emergency. She and her staff left detailed notes about each day's visit with the cats. I will definitely use Life of Riley next time we need a pet sitter.

Mary Ann took amazing care of our two senior cats over the July 4th holiday while we were traveling. We both felt at ease with her from our initial meeting and so happy to have found her and the service she offers. It was a relief to know that someone was coming by to not only take care of the cats but to make sure the house was safe and sound.

We were very happy with the service here, from our initial meeting / interview with Mary Ann (which is reassuringly formal, though warm), to the actual pet-sitting itself. We were very eager to get the right fit for our Lab, Finnegan, as he can be very nervous of strangers. But Mary Ann (who handled the visits to Finnegan herself) got on famously with him and she reported back that Finnegan was turning up with a toy in his mouth every time she appeared at the door.
We are frankly just so relieved and pleased to have found someone who we trust enough to leave our furry pride and joy in the care of, so I would wholeheartedly and without reservation recommend the services of Life of Riley.

It went better than I could have imagined. The cats were happy, well brushed and didn't miss a beat in my absence. I have had pets for many years and used other providers over that time, but Mary Ann Franey from Life of Riley Pet Care Services rates as the best.

We had Mary Ann and her staff feed our kittens and pick up our mail over a long weekend. They were absolutely fantastic. Everything went well until Monday morning when they went to our house to feed the cats and found one inside the wall in our basement laundry room. After trying extensively to get the cat to climb up and out, we finally asked Mary Ann break a hole in the wall--she did and the cat came jumping out completely unharmed. When we arrived home a few hours later, the cat of course wanted to jump right back in the hole. Anyway, Mary Ann was great, called us immediately to let us know what was happening and and went above and beyond to find the cat in the wall--we were really happy that she agreed to knock the hole in the wall to rescue out cat. Thanks so much!!! We will definitely use Life of Riley again (have already booked for another trip).

Mary Ann was amazing. I have never felt so comfortable leaving my cats for an extended period before. She was very detailed and thoughtful in the questions she asked. I was very impressed. And upon returning I was even more impressed!! The girls acted as if we had never been gone. Highly Recommend Mary Ann.

Mary Ann did an outstanding job of caring for our 12 year old cat. She visited twice a day, spent time with our cat, and left a detailed report of their activities together and our cat's behavior and demeanor overall during each visit. Previously, we had always boarded our cat which was very stressful on her. When we arrived home from our trip, our cat was happy, content and not at all aloof as she often was when we boarded her. Mary Ann's detailed reports are terrific - they include details as to how our cat is eating, eliminating, and behaving in general. We highly recommend Mary Ann for all of your pet needs (she previously cared for our two dogs) - she is thorough, professional, trustworthy, caring, responsible and dependable. She is a true animal lover and has an incredible rapport with both dogs and cats. We will not use anyone else to care for our beloved pets.

"As the founder and owner I take exception to this review as I believe it was written in response to my refusal to provide a service outside the realm of pet care. Life of Riley has consistently received positive client reviews and was the 2011 and 2012 recipient of the Super Service Award from Angie's List. LIFE OF RILEY RESPONSE During the interview process, the member held her cat, [member's pet's name removed]. She asked me not to pet [member's pet's name removed]- just let her snifff my hand. The member explained that [member's pet's name removed]was very wary of people and that it took 2 years for [member's pet's name removed] to warm up even to her sister. As to the "gazillion" forms mentioned. Life of Riley fills out four (4) forms as part of the initial meeting and interview process: 1. Pet Information Form 2. Client Information Form 3. Vet Release Form 4. Service Agreement These forms are necessary for the proper care of a client's pet and under no circumstance should this be considered an overwhelming amount of paperwork. During the interview the member actually remarked how impressed she was with our forms as they reminded her of information that she had forgotten to include in her written notes. At the conclusion of our meeting the member stated how happy she was to find the Life of Riley service. She was very comfortable leaving her cat in our care. This was the first time she had traveled since adopting [member's pet's name removed]. When I called her Friday morning regarding her trash cans, she asked how [member's pet's name removed] was doing. I stated that [member's pet's name removed] had been eating well and was currently lying on the master bedroom bed. The member said this was a very positive sign. The member called me when she returned home to tell me how pleased she was with the Life of Riley servcie and that she was looking forward to using our service again. On the following Wednesday, (5 days after her return) the member called Life of Riley again to see if I could drive her to a non-related appointment. I told her I could not. She then asked me to return her remote which I returned within the hour."

I would recommend Life of Riley to anyone. The owner did a complete interview regarding my cats' needs, including medication and vet information. Her workers brushed my cats and played with them. They also collected my mail and watered my plants. They leave a detailed report of each visit with details about the pets' happiness/disposition during each visit. The owner was able to accommodate my last-minute travel plans. My cats were happy and healthy upon my return.

We have an elderly dog who has trouble walking, so kenneling is out of the question for her. We were so pleased to find Mary Ann. She gave our dog excellent care, was very punctual and caring and kept in touch with us during our trip. We especially liked the "report card" she left which gave us details of each visit, including times and activities. Overall, our experience was very positive. We were very happy to have found her and will definitely call her again.

We met with Mary Ann after calling her a week or so before we were due to go out of town, to arrange for her to look after our two cats in our home. She was very thorough in determining what we needed, where things were, and meeting the cats. One of them is very shy around strangers and so we warned her she might not see him on the first day. In the event, however, both showed up to greet her the first time she arrived. She left brief but detailed notes in which she recorded the times of her visits, what she did, and a brief description of the cats' behavior. Besides feeding them and giving them some attention, she cleared out our mail slot to make room for the next day's mail, and watered two outdoor pots of plants that were drying out because of strong sun. When we returned the cats were calm and nonchalant about our arrival, which we interpret to mean they were well taken care of. In sum, she is exactly the kind of person we were hoping to find for this kind of chore. We will certainly call Mary Ann the next time we have to be away and we recommend her highly.

Fantastic. She is diligent and great with the dogs and very trustworthy. They seem to look forward to seeing her. She is punctual and dependable and flexible to assist with additional visits if needed. Easily accessible by phone. She LOVES animals and they love her. My cats don't go to anyone but they go to her. She is so responsible and dependable. She gives written reports daily. She is wonderful with senior dogs, she is sensitive to them missing their owners. I've never seen anyone so good. My vet recommended her to me, which says a lot. Her price is competitive with others.
