Dennis was very professional and responsive to phone calls and text messages. His price was very competitive.
I gave an overall rating of C because of the lack of attention to detail and finishing.

The good - professionalism, price, clean-up after the work was done.  Old paneling came down without any major damage. Paint job was also well done.
He also cut up some planks for me to use in my garden!

he not so good:
One of the beams has 5-7 spots where he pulled out old nails (leaving 1 inch scuff marks)
Two of the beams got accidentaly "thrown away".  He replaced them with simple wood strips (do not match the other beams).
Detailing and finishing - the trim he created to fill the gap (where beams meet walls) was really reclaimed wood from what was being taken down, cut into three rectangular pieces.  I expected a proper decorative trim.  By the time I saw that, it was already up. 
The electrical outlets - he did not put those back in.  Wire which he had to move to do work -was not put back in its place.
Two small areas (4x4) where there were cabinets should have also been painted but were not.
Basically all the big parts of the project went well, but all the little details that take a project from "average" to "excellent" were not there. 
By the 8th day, we were simply ready to have our family room back.  I took it upon myself to do the minor touch-up work which ideally should have been done by him (complete job)!

Dennis, the owner, of Hoover General Contractors was very professional and punctual. He did an amazing job building a deck next to our pool. The deck took about five days to build and every night before they left, the work area was cleaned. The deck is very well constructed and we couldn't be happier. We would definitely use Hoover General Contractors again.

He was always on time and cleaned up every night. The price was competitive and the work was quality.
