Arrived on time and fixed the problem straightaway. Found the problem quickly and explained the issue to me. The cost was inline with what they told me on the phone. Completely satisfied with their service.

He came in and he was actually $3,000 cheaper on average then what all my other estimates were. He did excellent, excellent work.

The work was all done in a timely fashion, and i have no doubt that the home is much better for it! Four new outlets at countertop in kitchen, appropriately grounded outlets where they needed to be, and new floodlight! All up to code, and safe. Everything works, and the work was done when promised, without any difficulty. Thanks.

He is a local guy.He is reliable and doesn't have to come back and fix something because he messed something up. I don;t know what the going rate for electricians are so I just assumed that they will be high, I go t him out of the phone book. I just looked for someone local in Oberlin.

I was reading late one rainy night and my light went off. A few seconds later it came back on. My neighbors' lights were steady so I knew this was MY problem--scary. I turned off the main breaker for peace of mind so I could sleep. Next morning I called two local companies in the phone book. Burgess called back within an hour; the other company called around noon the next day, (I couldn't check Angie's list because I had no power.) Brian came about a half hour after he called. He checked out the breaker box and answered a lot of questions I had about it and about household electricity in general. He was knowledgeable and articulate, and his manner was pleasant and professional. He found the problem quickly: a loose exterior light fixture that shorted out in the rain. It was ancient and ugly, so I already had a replacement on hand. Brian installed it while answering more questions. Overall it was a great experience. I wish all service calls went this well!

We decided to take the plunge for a solar PV array and contacted Burgess Electric who had some experience installing solar systems in town. After some prompting we received an estimate from Burgess, and then we accepted the bid in early April. Then we waited for the materials to be ordered and delivered. In late May the panels arrived and Burgess said that we needed to store them in our garage. This was unexpected and a bit inconvenient. The supports for the panels were placed on the roof in early June, the rails added in mid-June, and finally the panels lifted up and put in place in late June. The inverter and meters were installed while waiting for the rails to arrive. Even after all the panels were in place we had to wait for a final part to get the whole system live. It was a long process, but in the end it was worth it. Burgess did not clean up as well as they should; I found wire and plastic conduit in the ivy near the house after they left. The bottom line is that the panels look fine on the roof and the system is working as promised. It is wonderful to see the electric meter running backwards and to pay electric bills of $2.50 (service fee). To know that we have reduced the amount of carbon dioxide attributed to our home is a great feeling. We hope more homeowners will take the plunge as we have. We look forward to the 30% tax credit ($8000) on our 1040 form to be filed next April. UPDATE (October 2010): We made more electricity than we used from July 2009 to June 2010. The panels produced more electricity (4500 kWh) in the year than their rating (3900 kWh). No maintenance or other issues. We did receive the 30% tax credit on our federal income taxes. Burgess Electric has been good about asking how the panels are performing. Would definitely do this again with the same company.
