Needed to get service on a 1985 Chevy P30 motor home chassis. Unit had broken an alternator belt which was replaced by the side of the road, but the alternator still wouldn't charge the battery. Later, the unit overheated and a new thermostat was installed, again on the roadside. Took it to Hy-Tek because they claimed to do a lot of truck and motor home service. Told them to do a drain, flush & fill, lube, oil & filter, change the brake fluid and please check the charging system - the belt and thermostat had been replaced. They called a few hours later, said the wrong belt had been installed and that they would check everything out. They called again the next day, saying it was done. On arrival, they handed me a $900 bill for the most basic work that took less than 1 day! To add insult to injury, the brake fluid change was botched - the pedal sank to the floor on leaving the parking lot. Unfortunately, the vehicle had to be picked up after hours, so a complaint could not be immediately registered. When the vehicle was returned, they had the nerve to say their road test revealed no problems, but they would take another look. Got the call that they had re-bled the brake lines a few hours later. On picking the unit up, they complained that they had to use 32 pints of brake fluid on the re-bleed. Clearly, they simply didn't do the job properly and were a rip-off to boot.
