Charlie's paving did our drive June of 2023. I called in November to let him know of multiple cracks in drive. It is now August of 2024, no Charlie, he has never gotten back with me on a repair date. My driveway has many cracks, and grass growing up on the sides. Beware of flashy car and high pressure sales pitch. I have now repaired my drive. All cracks are filled. This at my cost! Just want all to know there is NO customer follow up with charlie. It's on to the next job. I'm out 17,000.00 on a driveway tha now looks 10 years old. BEWARE!!!

We had a large, badly cracked driveway resurfaced. I waited to see how this job held up to a northern Ohio winter. I am pleased to report it held up beautifully. They came on time, worked efficiently and brought all the small and large equipment needed. Charlie and the workers were courteous and cleaned up nicely when done. They did all that was promised actually better than I had hoped. They even suggested a little extra and did it with no additional charge. I was impressed how Charlie included his son in the project. The boy worked hard and watched for ways to step into a need without being prompted to. Beware when reading reviews. There are other "Charlie's Paving" out-of-state that were posted on this Ohio based business's website.

We hired them to install our driveway. They came out at the end of April. Their work is not top quality. No instructions or anything upon leaving. They broke one of the tools of my husband, (they came unprepared). Left a piece of rebar in our grass (to be hit the following day with the lawnmower). Their spreader caught fire in our grass. The final straw is that we already have weeds growing through the asphalt, it is only been 10 weeks since it was installed. I have been looking at it and saying you get what you pay for. When we asked them about the weeds, they told us that even asphalt would not stop weeds never had this problem at my other house) and pour bleach on it and that will kill it.

Asphalt Sealing
They came back over and over again trying to push us into getting the drive sealed. We had paid them an extra $700 or $800 for a seal that they said would be good for a few years and we wouldn't have to do any further sealing for awhile. The new drive was only 1 year old. Didn't appreciate their "high pressure" sales pitch. They became very annoying and wouldn't take no for an answer. We eventually blocked our drive so they couldn't pull in. Ridiculous!!!!!!!!

"I'm so sorry we only do seal coating if the Customer ask for it there is guys going around after we complete the job saying that they are with us and try seal coating the driveways. if you dont make the check out to charlies paving or Charles Swartz. more then likely it it not are company."

They came out and the driveway looked great for first two months, after that huge cracks started appearing. I have sent several pictures and texts to Charles and he puts me off saying he will come out and never follows through.

Hard working and professional staff. I had a smaller project that needed repaired and no other companies bothered returning my call. Charlie's Paving not only returned my call, but had the job completed in no time. I well call them later to repaving my driveway. Great people and an A+ company.

Price was good, but I was not totally pleased and contacted them about this. I observed when they were rolling my drive a brown substance was being rolled into the black top and is still there looks bad. They also got tar on the side of my house that's still there. Clean up left a lot to be desired, in fact, I cleaned the street of stones and black top left behind, some I could not get removed. Talked with Charlie said he would send someone down but never came. Being a widower living alone is hard enough. I assumed blacktop would be black

"The brown substance is from rolling your base and then rolling your hot mix. That is nothing that will hurt your asphalt. We came an hour after calling you and done clean up."

"First of all, you never hired us to patch your driveway, you hired us to sealcoat your driveway. Your driveway is in desperate need of an overlay and when you called we had told you that you also still owed $300 for seal coating."

Asphalt Paving Installation
From start to finish, it was a pleasure dealing with Charlie's Paving. I own a campground and had a terrible dust problem due to the roadways being gravel (river rock covered by limestone). Charlie covered the approximately 700 lineal feet and the front parking area with milled asphalt. There were a couple of areas that needed attention after the initial work was done. It took only one phone call for us to set-up a time for Charlie's crew to come out. Unfortunately, due to equipment break-down, they were unable to come as agreed to -- they did arrive the next morning. As I'm typing the crew is re-rolling the entire project and making sure that none of the minor imperfections remain. It should be noted that our payment check had already been cashed, and since we installed milled asphalt, there was no guarantee. I will definitely call Charlie's Paving for our next project.

Asphalt Sealing
Leaves were falling while they were spraying blacktop so they sprayed over the leaves. Worst job I have ever seen. They conceded to send another company who removed the leaves and sealed the job the correct way.

"The leaves kept falling nothing we could do about Mother Nature. We had offered to reseal coat job in spring when there are no leaves. Customer cannot be satisfied and was very rude to the company. We offered to send her money back but she wanted us to come back out and put another coat down while the leaves are still falling."
