The clock was done on schedule and the pocket watches were completed ahead of time. We are very happy with the results. We also appreciated the information that he could give us on our clocks and that he told us how to better maintain them so they won't need repaired again any time soon.

We could not be more pleased or appreciative of the repair that Dan performed on our Grandfather Clock. We were given our Mother's Clock that was a gift from Dad back in the 80's.  We could not even remember the last time we had heard this clock chiming it had been so long.  To hear that familiar sound again was very sentimental and means so much.  As fate would have it, Dan was in our area and arrived within hours.  Within 30 minutes, and after replacement of two minor parts, the clock was back to full operation.  Dan was professional, very knowledgeable and provided a quick "How-To-Operate" before he left.  I highly recommend this company and plan to call them for all my future service and maintenance needs.

Things that impressed me:
1. Although the Ebert's shop in in-home in Norton, OH (Akron area), it was clean and organized.
2. Mr Ebert took great care in dismantling clock to give accurate diagnosis and estimate.
3. Mr Ebert gave a detailed explanation of problems, solutions and costs.
4. Mr Ebert shared his expertise history as assurance of his quality work.
5. Mr Ebert gave me an estimate $$ expense that seemed very fair for a rehab of a very old mechanism.
6. Mr Ebert estimated 4-6 wks to do the work yet called me in 3 weeks finished.
7. Mr Ebert explained how to care for the clock in the future
8. With slight adjustment the clock in accurate within 1min/week. Exceptional for a clock of this age.

Very friendly and professional, chided me for not having the clocked cleaned and adjusted for the past 5 years.

Our Black Forest Cuckoo clock Stopped working. We bought it in Frankenmuth, Mich. and didn't want to haul it back there.
So we took it to Ebert's at first we thought we had the wrong place as he works from his basement. When we called him he told us how to transport it and how to get to his house. He had to replace some parts that had to be ordered which he did and repaired it as quickly as possible. I would recommend him to anyone.

   The school house clock given to me by my wife for our first anniversary has been something I have cherished over the years. It reminds me of the clock in my first grade class classroom ( I guess that  tells you how long ago that was ). Since I am a teacher, the clock has a special meaning to me as well. When my clock was serviced, 20 years later, it needed a new mechanism and I quickly paid the money to have it replaced at a place recommended by a friend. When I got my clock back, it was a mess. I was desperate to do what ever I could to correct and save my clock, but I didn't know where to go or who to trust, so I did nothing. I decided to join Angie's List last month and  searched the site for someone in my area who does clock repairs. That's when I ran across Jim at Ebert's clock repair and I am so thankful I did. I called Jim, he called back and told me to stop by and he would take a look at my clock. When I dropped off the clock, he  saw that there were  many mistakes made by the first repair and decided to fix them on the spot while I waited. In one hour he had my clock working again and corrected all the problems, including putting on a pair of new hands (the wrong hands had been put on the clock when it was repaired the first time). I mentioned Angie's list and how I was desperate to find someone who knew what they were doing to help me. I'm happy to say my clock is back on the wall working perfectly again.
   Jim saved my clock and a very special memory in the process. The price charged was very reasonable, considering my wife wanted to throw this clock in the trash and buy a new one for Christmas, if Jim hadn't saved it when he did.    I was only going to drop my clock off for repair so I did not bring my check book or money with me, but Jim trusted me to send him a check in the mail for the repair work he did. That speaks volumes to his character, I feel. He's a good guy and someone you can count on. I'm so happy I ran across Jim, thanks to Angie's List.

Overall experience was very good.  A new clock with similar style and features started at $399 and up and Ebert's and other places that sold cuckoo clocks.  He quoted $200, which involved pretty much gutting the clock and rebuilding the entire inside mechanism.  Strongly suggested yearly maintenance, oiling, which I never knew about previously and will probably do from now on.  Took close to 3 weeks for him to obtain the needed parts and complete the repair.  Clock works great again.  My only criticism was the price, although I knew going in it would probably not be cheap to fix, I was hoping for a little lower price.  In hindsite, I am pleased I went for the repair vs. buying a new replacement.  Cuckoo clocks aren't cheap, period, and if you like them as I do, you have to accept that.  Clock works great and looking forward to hearing it chirp for many years to come!

Ebert's provided outstanding service.   The repair had to be done at my home due to the size of the clock.   Mr. Ebert was arrived promptly and was able to diagnose and repair the clock in under 20 minutes.   Cost was very reasonable for a home service call.  I will definitely use him again for future maintenance and service.
