Today November 30, 2012 I called this company to have them come out and look at the damage on my roof from the last storm. I have never spoken no more unprofessional people in my life. Rude and crude from the person who answered the phone to the person who was supposed to set the appt. This company has no customer service. I ended up hanging up the phone and am in search of yet another repair company.

Called for an estimate on replacing shingles or possible total roof repair after effects of the last storm we had here in cleveland from hurricane sandy. . Received call back same day from the owner, he expressed his high ratings on angies list and what a reliable company he was. Made an appointment with him within the same week with Robert , "his top sales manager" the appointment was made for a thurs at 5pm to accommodate my working hours, which i did appreciate. I hurried home on thursday looking forward to meeting Robert with his expertise for discussing my roof situation and what needed to be done, with hopes to have an estimate and a step closer to getting the work done before the weather worsened. I arrived home at 4:35pm to be greeted by my thirteen old daughter handing me a business card that was left by Robert who showed up early and told my daughter to have me call him later that evening. I was extremely disappointed, first off that he did not wait till the appointment time which was 5pm, that he did not call me and let me know that he would be changing the time of his arrival, and that he expected me to follow up with a phone call. i felt that i made it clear to the owner that i needed their expertise on what repairs i needed on my roof, and was looking forward to seeing someone in person to discuss this with. I do not understand why he just left. The least he could have done was communicate to me and not my 13year old daughter. i will not recommend them or call them again. They were absolutely no help to me at all. I have no idea what his conclusion was after he left here, i made sure i was home in time for the appointment that was set.

They never showed up to give estimate. I sent them pictures of what needed to be repaired and got an estimate over the phone. When they finally sent me a hard copy of the estimate, it was higher than what was given over the phone. Then they never showed up to do the job. I called and they rescheduled and never showed up again. Very poor business practice. The owner called and apologized after he read my review. He asked for another chance. I decided to let him try again. He scheduled a time to do the work, showed up this time, and completed the job. I was satisfied with what they did.

Home Exteriors did an excellent job. I got estimates from four top-rated roofers on Angie's list, and went with Home Exteriors because they were responsive, had a good price and were highly rated. I was not disappointed. It was a complete tear-off, and took three days in the middle of the summer heat wave. The gutters took an additional day. The crew was good, and did a great job on the clean up. There was no sales pressure nor was there any pressure to pay right away. When they came by to pick up the check, I mentioned a few items that I wanted checked on, and they sent their handyman a few days later who took care of everything (note that this was after they had the check). The roof and gutters look great. I have passed this company's name on to my friends, and I highly recommend Gary & Home Exteriors to anyone needing a roof or gutters. Also, I always mention Angie's list to the reps from all of the companies I talk with (we have more remodeling work in process) and they all are happy to hear how they were selected. I think the list helps keep everyone honest, and it really helps the good companies (like this one) stand out. Plus it has made my selection process a lot easier knowing that others have graded them 'excellent'.

Excellent. I am really pleased to have worked with this company. From the first contact I had with the company, I was impressed. Gary, my estimator and primary contact, came out to give me an estimate on my residence. He was professional, quick, and asked the right questions. Most importantly, he didn't do a "man behind the curtain" routine and wait 3 days to email me the esitmate. He ran his numbers for about 10 minutes and then gave me the estimate on the spot. It was fair compared to 2 other highly ranked Angie's List contractors that I also had bid. Nevertheless, it was more than I wanted to spend this fall, so I asked Gary to get ahold of me in the spring. About 6 weeks went by and I had a crisis occur at a double I own in Lakewood. The attic is finished and has a skylight that must have been about 15 years old. It was not a problem until another roofer did a VERY POOR job replacing the roof last year. At that point the skylight developed a leak that seemed to come and go. Well, we had a big storm and there was a little stream coming in through the window. The skylight needed to be removed and replaced and the roof needed to be sealed up tight. In a panic, I called Home Exteriors on a Saturday morning. A professional customer service person took my call, and routed me to Gary for a follow up call Monday morning. Gary called first thing Monday morning and I explained my problem. He went out and looked at the job and called me back 2 days later with an estimate. It was fair so I signed the contract he faxed over and faxed it back. Gary said it would be about 2 weeks until they could get to the job. It proceeded to rain 3 out of 5 days a week for the next month, but shortly after that I got a call letting me know they were ready. I arranged with my tenants to be home for that day, because the roof would be open during the skylight replacement and roof repair. The job was supposed to start on Thursday, but didn't due to the death of a family member for the crew chief. I called Gary and he made it happen for the next day. My tenants said the job went off without a hitch. The neighbors said the Home Exteriors crew was very nice and polite. Also, they cleaned up very well at the end of the day on Friday and on Saturday. I went out to the job over this past weekend to insulate, drywall, and paint the inside of the ceiling where the new skylights didn't cover (which was to be expected). I was pleased and impressed to see that they had used 3/4" plywood instead of particle board. The framing was well done and square. This made it easy for me to do the work inside that I had to do to get my rental back to where it should be and my tenants lives back to normal. I have dealt with bad roofing outcomes in the past and was a little wary of using someone that offered a reasonable price. I mean, you pay for what you get, right? Well, with Home Exteriors, you get a whole lot more than what you pay for! Best of all, I finally have some PIECE OF MIND that this issue is behined me and the roof is sealed up tight. I am pleased and impressed with Home Exteriors and will be recommending them to anyone that even mentions a roofing project within earshot. Perhaps most of all, I am pleased that Gary took the time to help me out with this relatively high risk, low reward, small job. He and his crew are real tradesmen, which is unfortunately a rare these days. WELL DONE HOME EXTERIORS! See you in the spring to do may residence.

My insurance paid for the full cost of the repairs. The people from Home Exteriors were very nice and seemed very professional. We reviewed everything that my insurance adjustor had specified. He sent out a crew shortly thereafter. They did all of the work that the insurance company suggested. My roof started leaking about a month after the new roof was put on. I called them about the problem and they sent someone out. They identified the problem and repaired it. However, it started leaking again. They have had to come out about 4 times to repair leaks to the new roof. They are always very nice and to come to address it, and the roof is covered by a 10 year warranty.

These roofers are really great. They are professional, organized, good workers, and fun guys. Most importantly, they are Very Good at installing roofs, sky-lights, attic fans, flashing, and everything necessary for a great new roof job. The removal of the first old sky-light was a little rough and damaged the inside dry-wall, requiring some additional work. But they sent in a great closer to finish the job. A very nice man named Steve came a few days after the roof job was complete. He surveyed the damaged dry-wall and proposed his repair plan for my approval. After a quick trip to Home Depot for supplies, and a couple return visits allowing time for stuff to dry, he completed an excellent repair job. Considering the huge amount of crap (old roofing, tarp paper, nails & stuff) that comes off with the old roof, they do an excellent job of catching the bulk of it in tarps, and cleaning up the stuff that gets by. I didn?t get any other bids, so I am not sure how competitive the price was. I put all my confidence in Angie?s list recommendations to make selecting a contractor easy on myself. My gut feel is to give a B, or at best an A- for pricing, but since I did not get any competitive bids, I cannot do that. Now, I wish I would have gotten competing bids, so my suggestion to you future Angies-Listers is do the extra work and get competing bids. I think these guys are worth it, even if they do cost a little more, but at least you will know how competitive the price is. The new attic fan was set at 120 degrees and 40% humidity. The humidity setting caused the fan to run almost all the time. I climbed up into the attic and increased it to 70%, and that is much better. Other suggestions: * The workers leave the remainder of the last open pack of roof shingles. Carry it to your basement for storage, in case you ever need to replace shingles in the future. * Get the owners manuals from the boxes of any extras (attic fans, sky-lights, etc.) before they get thrown out. They will not be saved by the workers and given to you (although that would be a nice touch), so you have to do it yourself. They are delivered to you prior to the installation date, so you just need to open the box and take them out. I didn?t, so I had to call Gary to get the manufacturer and model numbers. I could not download the manuals from the manufacturer?s websites, but I was able to obtain them through emails to the manufacturers. * Be considerate on hot summer days to the workers on your roof. Go to Costco ahead of the scheduled installation date and buy the guys some big packs of Gatorade. Make a bunch of ice days before and keep a big cooler full for them. The appreciation and instant rapport is well worth it. Home Exteriors and Angies List both get my complete recommendation on this one.

Home Exteriors provided me with a timely appointment to look over our roof and gave me the estimate the same day. They also left me with a business card and booklet that pictured my choice of shingles. After FAXing the contract agreement to the company, a date was scheduled for my work. The shingles were delivered when I was told. The crew arrived on date and at time expected. I was called about both dates to make sure that they were satisfactory. The crew used large covers to protect my house and plants during the work. Each day they used magnetic tools to clean up any nails. They swept up other debris. They asked if they could leave the dumpster on the premises until the end of the job. They were very conscientious about asking me to move cars so that nothing would fall on them. We are very pleased with the job. Even some of our neighbors have commented on the new roof! Definitely will use them when we plan to replace the siding.

Fantastic. Roof inspection revealed wind damage. Gary worked well with us and insurance rep. Did such a great job on the roof, we contracted him to do siding as well. All work took a month, but it involved two subcontractors as well. Initial roof replacement took about three days, working around the weather. Many craftsmen on site. Small army in fact. Cleanup fantastic except for siding people, but even thatwas at what we felt to be an acceptable level. Work was complex involving many issues and coordinations. As with any major renovations, there were a few items on the punch list which were taken care of IMMEDIATELY on communication of our concerns to Gary. Price, Qality, and service second to none. Never experienced better.

They did a great job.

Everything went very well. I had gotten two proposals with a reasonable price. They were timely and cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased with their service.

Gary did an excellent job. They have a great follow-up and called me to make sure I was satisfied with the work. I am very happy with the work. The only drawback is I am stillwaiting on my receipt.

The company was professional, as were the subcontractors that they hired. So far, very pleased with the work. Felt the price was competitive.

Outstanding work and they threw in a free vent for my bathroom fan.

They did a first class job, were responsive, professional, and I couldn't have asked for a better job.

They seemed okay but the pricing was not one of the better ones. I had a coupon but they said their price was better than if I used the coupon.

I waited 3 weeks after signing a contract for an installation appointment. After calling 4 days in a row I was told the gutters would be installed on Saturday at 11am. The workmen showed up on time but did not bring the right parts. Even though there was work that could have been done without the parts (brown wedges), they told me they would return to the shop, get the parts and return to do the job. They were a no call / no show the remainder of the day. I posted a poor rating on Angie's list and was immediately contacted on Monday by Miller Gutters; apparently the work had been subcontracted to them through Home Exteriors, unbeknownst to me. Miller Gutters arrived on Monday and installed the gutters to my satisfaction. The quality of the work is very good. Unlike other gutters installed, water is directed and captured as it should be. I also installed their gutter guard system on the front of the house and am pleased, so far. I have revised my initial poor rating on Angie's list to reflect the follow up service and quality of workmanship. I was contacted by the company twice after my initial posting as they are very concerned about their online reviews and have made every effort to win my confidence back. I would hire them again knowing that they are concerned about guarding their reputation and delivered quality work.

Had them come to quote the installation of some exterior molding at my house. I was told it might be a difficult job and he had to call the manufacturer to check how to make the installation and then I would be contacted. To this date, 7/19/12, no email, no call. I tried to contact them but still no response. I'm under the impression that they saw the job as a small one and didn't want to do it. I guess the professional thing to do would've been to tell me the would'nt do it, but I didn't even got that.

IT WENT VERY SMOOTH. I CALLED FOR AN APPOINTMENT. THEY GOT BACK TO ME TO ARRANGE A TIME. THE OWNER CAME OUT. I TALKED TO HIM ABOUT WHAT I WANTED. HE MADE SUGGESTIONS. SUPPLIES WHERE DELIVERED. ALL THE WORKERS WERE PLEASANT. ROOF OFF AND ON ONE DAY AND THEN GUTTERS THE NEXT. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT AND THE WHOLE EXPERIENCE. FROM THE TIME I CALL FOR AN APPOINTMENT TO THE TIME THE GUTTER INSTALLERS LEFT WAS ABOUT 8 DAYS (INCLUDING THE WEEK END). I WASN'T IN A HURRY, BUT IT WAS NICE TO HAVE IT DONE.

Timely, professional, efficient, 2.5 days of work on a large house,good clean up, pricing was the best of many that I contacted,no complaints, it was a very good experience.

When Gary came out to give us an estimate he was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. He did his measurements and gave us a price on the spot. His price was lower than another estimate from a highly rated roofing company and Home Exteriors was going to do more work and use a better shingle. We signed the contract before Gary left that afternoon. Gary indicated it would be about two weeks before they would replace our roof. About two weeks later the roofers arrived and completed the roof, including the new skylights, in one day (a long day). We have had a major rainstorm since the roof was put on and we have not seen any leaks or problems of any sort. A week or so after the job was completed my wife and I noticed that while the rest of the roof was installed in a random pattern there were three or four shingles installed symmetrically in a spot that caught your eye easily. While the shingles functioned as they should I talked to Home Exteriors and explained the situation. Within a couple of days two men came and replaced the shingles in question. Our roof is now functionally solid and looks great! My wife and I are very pleased with quality of their work and the service they provide. They are a very customer service oriented organization.

Gary was on time for the estimate and extremely knowledgable and helpful. He even helped us pick out the right shingle color. He called us the week before the install and explained that the material would be delivered the following Monday morning. He said his crew would be out that same morning for the install. Everything went like clockwork. The roof was completed by early evening. The following day the gutters and downspouts were installed. We could not be happier with the price, worksmanship and clean-up. I would highly recommend Home Exteriors to anyone looking for a roof and/or gutter replacement.

They did a great job. The workers were hard workers. They didn't let up the whole time they were on that roof. The actual price was a little higher than the estimate because they didn't know the chimney needed to be rebuilt. I definitely would use them in the future. They did a very good job.
