Read above. I am really disappointed. Tom was very nice responded to my call right away. Tom and his son arrived on time did the job and Tom noticed a flaw in the coverage of the paint in the tub. Tom then told me the tub had to dry completely before he could fix
it about 1 month. He said he would cone back and fix it and he never returned.

Tom did a great job!  He was right on time, and made the tub look brand new!

It went very well.  The tub in our original 1931 art-deco bath was in generally good condition, but the bottom was showing 80 year's worth of wear, so we decided get it reglazed.  After researching various options, I came across Tom Horvath's name in a local newspaper article about bath refinishing.  I used Angie's List to get his contact information-- and found his excellent reviews-- and sent him an email.  He called me back the next day, explained what he did and what it would cost and we scheduled a time to do it.  He and his son arrived right on time and got to work.  They are both professional, efficient and friendly, and I enjoyed talking with them while they set up. The quality of the workmanship and the care they took to avoid getting the glazing material on the floors and tile were both outstanding, as was the re-caulking.  It looks like a brand-new tub, it's actually a bit less slippery than it was, and we are very happy with the result.  Tom even gave me a few good tips on a couple other projects I was working on the bathroom, which worked out and were much appreciated!

I hired Tom to reglaze our bathroom almost a year ago now, and was thinking about it as I need another bathroom done.

Tom and his son spent about two and a half days reparing and glazing the tile walls and tub in my bathroom.  While here they were polite and professional.  At the end of the job, the bathroom looked great other than some drip marks on the tile walls in about ten different areas.  I asked Tom if he could fix this, and he said it would smooth out as it cured over the next couple of weeks. I still paid him given his good track record on Angie's List.   The drip marks never smoothed out.  I called him three times over the next couple of months and he never returned my calls.

Overall I am still happy with the job.  The tile walls look about 10x better than they did before, at a cost much less than replacing the tiles and tub.  Though when you look closely, you can see the drip marks.  I am mostly upset that Tom never returned my calls, and felt obligated to submit this report.  (I don't normally give bad reports.)  Now I have to find someone else to reglaze my other larger bathroom.

The tub looks amazing! I wish I had taken some before and after pictures, because it came out looking so good. They removed the old finish, which involved quite a lot of sanding and grinding, and reglazed the inside and outside of the tub. The tub is super smooth looking and has been very durable. Cleaning it has even been easier and it takes longer to get dirty.

Removing the tub wasn't an option because of its weight and size, and I am so glad that Tom and Travis Horvath were able to reglaze it to look like new. We now have a tub that will withstand the test of time. The price was good. They were able to work around my schedule. They are very polite and provide an excellent product. They cleaned up after themselves. I thought I would have dust everywhere,but they did a great job of keeping it clean.

The work done was high-quality and finished quickly. When I initially spoke with Tom to make the appointment he was willing and able to come out that weekend, but due to my own scheduling conflicts we made the appointment for the following Saturday. He called the night before to confirm when he'd arrive and he showed up exactly when he said he would. I was impressed with the speed with which he and his partner finished the job and the quality of the new surface. It looks great! He also answered my questions very honestly and left me with an info sheet on how to take care of the new surface. I would highly recommend Tom's services. He is a courteous and efficient businessman.

Had several contractors to estimate the refinishing of original bathroom wall tile and tub. Some repairs were needed. Tom was the only contractor who could do the repair work. The other contractors were only able to refinish, not repair. Good resource for the older home bathrooms to give a fresh look.

my home repairman (who is a stickler for detail!) said that Tom was "very professional" and did a great job - and he did!

Tom was very quick to call back and make an appointment. He was punctual and professional. Got the job done quickly; were not inconvenienced. The bathroom looks bright and much bigger!

After three visits, the tub looks reasonably good. The reglazed finish looks to be very sturdy and has a nicely shiny finish, but is not as smooth as I had hoped, having a slight gritty feel and a couple of minor runs. Additionally, some of the reglazing product made its way onto the floor and onto the chrome plumbing hardware. Mr. Horvath is very polite and returned our calls promptly. He would probably be willing to come out to fix the minor runs in the tub, but we have not asked him to.

If you have a limited budget then this is the way to go. Although, if I had to re-do another bathroom I believe I would spend the extra money to have the bathtub replaced. The reglazing itself is a slightly different white than my new white surround. He needed to come out a second time since there were some touchups to do.

VERY PROMPT AND RESPONSIVE. HE WORKED FAST AND THE JOB WAS DONE SOONER THAN HE ESTIMATED IT WOULD BE. I WAS SURPRISED HOW NICE THE TUB LOOKED WHEN HE WAS DONE. IT WAS A GOOD, QUALITY JOB.

HE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. I CALLED HIM FOR A QUOTE, BUT HE CAME IN AND GOT RIGHT TO WORK, WHICH I DIDN'T REALLY MIND. HE WAS FRIENDLY AND ANSWERED ANY QUESTIONS RELATED TO THE JOB AS WELL AS OTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT TUB HARDWARE THAT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JOB HE COMPLETED. I WOULD RECOMMEND HIM IN A MINUTE. HE WASN'T THE CHEAPEST, BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

I AM SO PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS OF MY BATHTUB REGLAZING/REFINISHING BY TOM HORVATH. HE CAME OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER TO INSPECT AND TO GIVE A QUOTE. HE OFFERED A DETAILED EXPLANATION OF WHY HIS TECHNIQUE AND MATERIALS WERE OF BETTER QUALITY. SEEING IS BELIEVING. HE DID A WONDERFUL JOB ON MY BUILT-IN TUB. THIS WAS A HEAVY, HEAVY CAST-IRON TUB THAT I WAS RELUCTANT TO REPLACE SINCE THE NEW TUBS ARE JUST NOT AS SUBSTANTIAL IN CONSTRUCTION. TOM DID A FABULOUS JOB IN APPLYING A SHINY, PERMANENT NEW FINISH TO THE TUB. IT LOOKS BRAND NEW. HE EVEN CAME OUT TO TOUCH-UP AREAS THAT REQUIRED ATTENTION AFTER THE TREATMENT HAD DRIED. THESE AREAS WERE VERY MINOR, AS HIS INITIAL APPLICATION WAS NEAR PERFECT. THIS IS SOMEONE WHO HAS WORKED WITH REFINISHING THESE TUBS FOR MANY YEARS - AND HIS QUALITY OF WORK IS REFLECTIVE OF THAT. I AM SO PLEASED WITH HIS WORK AND WOULD CERTAINLY USE HIS SERVICES AGAIN. HE DOES OFFER A DISCOUNT TO ANGIE'S LIST MEMBERS.

I HAD TO REMOVE GROUT FROM AROUND THE AREA AT HIS REQUEST, AND HE DIDN'T BLOW IT OUT, CAUSING GRIT AND WATER BUBBLES TO BE TRAPPED IN THE FINISH. A LOT OF OVER SPRAY, INCLUDING ON MY FLOOR & COUNTERTOPS. HE IS NOW SLOW IN RETURNING MY CALLS ABOUT RESOLVING THIS ISSUE.

NOT A SECRET BUT APPRECIATED THE PROFESSIONALISM AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE BUSINESS. THE TUB PORTION HAD BEEN REPAIRED PREVIOUSLY AND CRACKED AGAIN. TOM'S METHOD OF REPAIRING AND ALSO INSERTING FOAM UNDER THE TUB PORTION PROVIDED SUPPORT NOT PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED.
