Schade's did a great job taking down the trees and trimming. They cleaned up after themselves very well and were very professional. I'd hire them again.

They gave us an estimate to cut a tree down. This was after our northeast Ohio version of Sandy, so the tree services were busy. But the day after they gave us the estmate, I called and said to go ahead with the job. They didn't return my call to confirm. Two weeks later, I called them again, but they didn't return my call, again. One week after that (3 weeks after my go ahead call) , I told them not to come out.

When my phone call was returned a couple of days later, I was politely told that the company was too busy.  I was referred to another company called Stump Busters, but they did not have their contact information available and I would have to look it up.

Jon was doing work for a neighbor of mine.  When I saw him I asked if he could remove several shrubs for me.  He gave me a quote and the work was done within an hour! 
Last year I used his company for tree removal after a storm and was equally pleased.  Very professional.

I had a large maple tree in my backyard that received storm damage. Jon came out right away to quote the job and started work a few days after I approved the quote. They removed the damaged branches and also thinned out the tree. Cleanup was excellent and the tree is as healthy as ever. Jon was referred to my by my parents who he did some work for earlier in the year.

Schades cut down and ground the stumps for two trees that were dead in our backyard. Basically, we chose them based on the fact that they were going to remove the chips when they were done and the price was fair. When they left after the work had been completed, the excess material was still there. They said that they did not remove the wood chips because they like to let them settle for a winter season and then remove the excess, which we felt was a more than reasonable explanation. We didn't,t want to have big depressions in our backyard from where the trees had been. But, when we called back in the spring they said they had no record of the removal conversation and it was not in the contract. They never came out to finish the job. So, our recommendation is that if you decide to go with this company, make sure you read your contract closely, do not take their word for anything.
