Ken-Mar Tax

Currently going through the process of buying my first home. I found out that I owed city taxes going all the way back to 2012, mostly due to my own ignorance. During this period of time I had an extensive job history, I would jump from job to job constantly and a lot of years held multiple positions at the same time. I also moved to a different city almost every year leading up to 2019. Ken dealt with my messy history and got me results, before I even finished closing on the house. He was able to explain everything to me and even saved me a couple hundred dollars in a few different cities. I would highly recommend his service.

Excellent. Ken helped me through the process of dealing with the local tax collector. I had received a bill for over $10,000.00. Within days Ken let me know that I would be receiving a check from them for over $5,000.00. Needless to say Ken did a great job and my bank account grew and didn’t shrink. Highly recommended.

We had gone to one of the "big box" tax places - you know they ones that are typically open just during tax season. Well things didn't go well & we left without paying them. I came to Angie's List to find a person. I chose Ken because he had good ratings but he is also an enrolled agent. We did most of the work by phone & by email. We simply had to meet with him to review his work & pay him. I definitely plan to have him continue to do our taxes. Ken tells me that he also does financial planning for those who might have a need. He also tells me that he specializes in un-filed (missing/delinquent) returns.

Ken-Mar does my business and personal tax preparation. They make sure I get all the deductions I am entitled to. Their prices are very reasonable, but more importantly, they save me lots of dollars on my taxes. Very professional!

Amazing! I was embarrassed that I didn't file in 2013 but Ken made me feel comfortable and put my mind at ease, that it happens, life gets complicated and busy, not to worry - that we just needed to get all the information and maximize deductions and see what needed to be done to get back on track. After he put in all the information and made some phone calls it turns out I didn't owe as much as I thought on the 2013 (when I was a salaried employee) and was getting a refund for 2014 (when I left my job to open my own business) so it practically evened out! Ken is amazing! He's thorough and fast and confident and with his enrolled agent status I have confidence that he knows just how aggressive to be to minimize my tax liability without raising any red flags. I trust that I'm paying the least amount of taxes I need to and still compliant with all IRS rules! I would definitely refer Ken-Mar Tax - especially to the self-employed!!!

Ken is a walking IRS/Tax encyclopedia. Ken called the IRS with us in the office and handled a specific issue for us during our appointment. Ken was very professional and personal. We are referring prospects to Ken and will use again. We believe the price charge was well worth the work performed.

Overall, this was the most negative experience I've had with a tax service. I did not receive updates on my tax return filing and when I did request updates (both via email and phone - repeatedly), it would take a week or more to hear back. The front office and employees were also quite rude and made us feel unimportant. Furthermore, our tax returns were filed incorrectly - my social security was entered incorrectly on all forms and my name was spelled incorrectly despite all this information being provided correctly on all paperwork we submitted to the individuals that work there. When we asked for assistance in correcting these errors, we were told it didn't matter because the IRS had accepted the return. However, that was incorrect - the IRS sent a letter days later requesting clarification and further information. Needless to say, it was a battle to get them to assist with this request from the IRS as well. We still have yet to receive our return from the IRS......I would NOT recommend this firm because of the poor communication, lack of attention to detail, rude staff, and overall poor experience for the price paid.

I had been preparing my own taxes for years, but they eventually became increasingly confusing and complex, so I sought a tax professional. Ken was able to prepare my taxes in a fraction of the time that it took me. He also had no problems handling my tricky tax issues and gave easy-to-understand explanations during the process. I'll definitely return to Ken Mar next year.

Fast preparation of 2015 taxes;  Discussed some outstanding issues with the IRS and State of Ohio and he will be tracking those down for me.  Ken is a great guy and easy to work with.  Now we're even doing some financial planning with him

I was marveled by how much money I saved with this company. They fee is actually an investment as far as I am concerned.
