+ 0 moreThey did an AWESOME job! We had carpet lifted to dry-out because of a floor. At first, we thought the carpet wasn't salvageable - but Mr. Lopriore was great and assured us it could be fixed. He re-stretched the carpet and re-installed it. Very great job.

Description of Work: Phil Lopriore is great at what he does (carpet) and doesn't cut corners or allow shoddy workmanship. I've been using his services for over 10 years at a number of different homes and have never been disappointed. His most recent job for me was laying a vinyl floor in the finished area of my basement and vinyl tile in the laundry room. The materials were purchased through his showroom at what I consider a good price for the value of materials and the labor was subcontracted to the one person he uses for all his vinyl and tile work. The basement now looks completely transformed and the installers actually took the time to heat the individual tiles to bend/mold them to a very uneven concrete floor in the laundry room. Every piece was fitted in to minimize seams and cuts while being fitted around pipes, drains, the furnace and water heater.

+ 0 morePhil the owner called me back and scheduled a carpet stretching within two weeks. He stuck to his quote for the job I requested and actually did a little more than I requested, tightening up into the walk in closet as well. Let me tell you, people do not come out to stretch carpets! I called a variety of contractors and Phil drove all the way from North Olmsted to Mayfield having not even seen the repair job. This was on a house built in 2008. The original company "Hillcrest Carpet" did a terrible job and when I called to have it restretched they never even called me back. I would definitely work with Phil again and appreciate his service! It may be that he would charge less in North Olmsted area? I do not know. I am just happy it is done and done well.

+ -1 moreThe call-back to my original inquiry was prompt and we worked together to select a good pick-up time. The work was completed in about a week - - and delivery shortly therafter; agin, arranged at a mutually agreeable time. All was very smooth and professional.
Description of Work: We replaced wall-to-wall carpeting with hardwood flooring, but wanted to use so some of the carpet for an area rug. Lopriore's did a great job binding an 8' x 11' rug as well as a smaller 2x3 rug. He picked up and delivered the carpet - - very timely and convenient.

+ 0 moreThe people at Lopriore were very nice and patient with me. I had a lot of questions since this is my first time doing this type of purchasing and they did their best to answer them. It is a family run business. They let me take several samples home so I could get a better idea of what I wanted. I think this is important since I usually ended up picking something different (once I got it home) than what I had picked in the store. They explained the differences between the different types of carpet and flooring and made recommendations. Even showed be how some woods can change color with exposure to sunlight and what it looked like. They were a good group to work with. The carpet and flooring look fabulous. I am thrilled with how it turned out.
Description of Work: I purchased carpet for my family room and for my stairs and upstairs hallway. The carpeting was installed by Lopriore. They showed up on time and had a good attitude. They tore up the old carpeting and cleaned the floor underneath the carpeting in the family room. I had just had the room painted and baseboards placed so the old tacking for the carpet had been removed. They had to place down new tacking in the family room. They also cleaned the floors and stairs after ripping out the old carpet, before they installed the new carpet. The old carpet was taken out and cut in sections and placed by our trash bins for us to take to the curb. Most everythinmg was cleaned up when they left, but there was some cleanup left for us to do. I know he had another job to do and it was already later in the day so I think he was in a bit of a hurry. I also purchased hardwood flooring for my downstairs hallway/kitchen and sheet vinyl for the downstairs bathroom. Lopriore does not install flooring but they have someone they work with. The installation for the flooring is an extra charge. I have someone that I work with on my home repair projects and I had him install the flooring for me instead. The only issue we ran into with this is that Lopriore does not deliver the flooring to the house. That was OK with me as my guy was able to pick it up.

+ -1 moreThey did the job exactly as we wanted. He did the job promptly. He was here when he said he would be here. They have a piece of equipment that has teeth in it. It grabs the carpet and they pull it to one side and get straighten again. There was a fold in the carpet. They do that to pull the fold out. I would use their service in the future too.

+ -1 moreOur journey with Carpet by Lopriore started about a year ago when considered replacing 20+ year-old carpeting in our home and stopped by Lopriore shop for some ideas and prices. Phil Lopriore, the owner, made an appointment to stop by our house to measure and give us an estimate on installation. We selected a few carpet samples to take home and compare. Phil did do the measuring and gave us an estimate on the carpet we tentatively selected. However, with the holidays approaching fast, we kept putting the job off. We actually didn't contact Carpet by Lopriore until this past summer, and, to our surprise, Phil still had the estimate that he quoted us last fall. It was now a choice between nylon and polyester and we chose the later, but there was absolutely no pressure either way by Phil. After all our procrastination, we finally made the decision to get the new carpet, and we are not disappointed. Phil's two installers came to our house on time, worked in a very professional manner and had the job done by 4:00 PM that day. Phil, and his staff, told us that if we had any problems with the carpet to let them know and it would be fixed. We are happy we finally made the decision to replace the carpet and to go with Carpet by Lopriore. We would certainly consider Phil and his company for our next carpeting job.
Description of Work: The two installers from Carpet by Lopriore removed the existing carpet and padding from our living room dining room area, moving furniture as needed, rolled up the old carpet and padding in 3' to 4' lengths and placed the rolled up carpeting in our garage to await for our next trash collection. After adding and/or replacing tack strips, they then laid down the padding and carpeting in our living and dining rooms, on our stairs goin to the second floor and on the second floor landing. They also carpeted the linen closet on the second floor and the coat closet at the entry to our home. They replaced the few large pieces of furniture that they had previously moved (e.g., buffet, hutch, sofa, piano), bagged all the leftover scraps of carpet and padding and swept the newly installed carpeting, leaving our home very clean.

Phil Lopriore came by himself, but was able to stretch my carpet and move some furniture for me in less than an hour. I would call up Flooring by Lopriore for my own home and highly recommend his company to anyone interested in quality product for reasonable prices.
Description of Work: Having used Carpet by Lopriore now known as Flooring by Lopriore in the past to order tile for my master bath, I trusted Phil Lopriore to stretch out my carpet in the master bedroom that was installed by another company.

+ 0 moreWe were looking for an inexpensive, neutral carpeting to install prior to putting our house up for sale. The owner was very helpful, quickly showed us samples of exactly the sort of thing we had in mind, and gave us a price that was competitive with what we had seen at some of the home improvement stores. For an extra $50 per room, we also arranged to have all our furniture moved during the installation. Installation was scheduled for our convenience, and the installers spent two full days doing the job. They moved all the furniture out of each room, tore out the old carpet and padding and took it out to our tree-lawn, then installed the new padding and carpeting and returned the furniture to it's original place. They did an excellent job of installation, tried to keep out of our way as much as possible, and thoroughly cleaned up afterwards. We were completely satisfied in every way and give them the highest marks possible. We would not hesitate to use them again.
Description of Work: Re-carpeted 4 bedrooms, hallway and stairway. Tore out and removed old carpet and pad to the tree-lawn, moved furniture, installed new carpet and padding: approx. 980 sq. ft.

+ -1 morePhilip Lopriore came and pulled up old carpeting from 4 rooms and a hallway. The carpets had been down for about 30 years and underneath were beautiful wooden floors. He did a commendable job getting up all the tacks, nails and padding as well. He cut the pieces into 4 feet strips so the trash would take them. He had some residue problems in some rooms which was not his fault, but I was able to clean that up myself. He was much cheaper than anyone else I called. Very professional.

They showed up exactly when they were supposed to and did a great job cleaning up. They were very nice people and did not mess up anything in the house. They helped us move the furniture and they did not charge us for that.
