They told me they could come out and do the job while I was at work. Left for work in the morning, came home to a brand new garage door! Its beautiful outside and insulated (to keep that COLD out, Dave said!) I love it. The guys at Above & Beyond were an absolute pleasure to work with and I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking to have some work done on the garage.
"First off, let me state that I feel horrible about this situation. I have never had an experience like this in my 16 years of business. We installed two new doors for Mr. Allehouse, and one new operator. The problem was with the operator, not the doors. The operator kept malfunctioning on three different occasions; the circuit board was blown every time. We replaced the circuit board two times and the entire head the last time. Then the fourth call, finally I had an electrician come to investigate. The bottom line is that the wiring on this home to the garage is over 70 years old. The electrician suggested he try a surge protector because there was obviously an irregular spike in the electrical current. I never heard anything more from the customer after that, I assumed everything was OK. I had no idea he called another company after the electrician was out. I did not hear of this until 3/24/2015 when a longtime customer made me aware of this on Angles List, he was flabbergasted to say the least. I have over 275 reviews online; none of them less than four stars, 99 percent are five star reviews. Customer service is everything to me, I am truly sorry for this set of unfortunate circumstances. "First let me state that we did not install this 16' x7' non-insulated garage door. The strength & integrity of these doors leaves little to be desired. They are sheets of galvanized steel with nothing to back them up from the inside. The door can not be tested until repairs are made, all parts needed replaced. The door buckled when lifted due to age, and quality of design. The door could not be lifted until the springs were replaced. We supported the door from the inside with steel to help an aging, weak, garage door. The customer was informed to call the office before their check was deposited that week so we could offer them a discount on a new door. They were also informed this was a temporary fix. We have over 210 five star reviews online as well as 23 five star reviews on Google. Customer service is everything to this company, I would not have responded if this were not the case."
I am very pleased with the service I received and would highly recommend this company. Very kind, polite, efficient, professional and fair priced.
They came to give me an price on installing a new door and opener on 2/25/14. While they were here they were able to fix our old door enough so we could still use it till our new one arrived. The door we wanted was a special order so it took about 3 weeks for them to come back and install the new one. They came while we were at work and did the install so we came home to a new door that looks and works great. They even talked me through programming the home-link system in our cars to operate the new door.
