Vancuren cut a tree down on adjoining property of mine but in order to access the tree they had to drive over my lawn with a bucket truck and a HUGE crane. In the process they made some ruts. I contacted them and first they denied it was them, then they said admitted it was them after they came out and looked at it. They said they will come and fix it when we get some nice weather as this was spring time. Once summer arrived I contacted them again and that is when they started having a bad attitude. I finally offered them if they come out and dump 20 yds. topsoil I will rent a skidsteer and do it myself. I would had paid for the rental and grass seed myself as I wanted to get this done ASAP so the grass can start growing. I had a project going in my backyard, regrading, pulling out stumps, reseeding, etc. that was nowhere close to the ruts Vancuren made. This is when they starting accusing me of taking advantage of them and accused me of wanting the dirt for that project, which was not true as the contractors that were doing it personally told me they do not need any dirt. Finally after listening to all of there lies and false accusations I decided to drop it and take the lost myself. I can not understand how a big company like that can be so ignorant to address a problem for a homeowner. I would never recommend this company to anyone!!!

After obtaining a quote to remove dead tree limbs, Vancuren incompletely rendered services and left several large dead tree limbs atop the tree. Crew members stated they didn't have a crane big enough and I could call to have them come back. When asked to complete the job, Matthew Vancuren attempted to explain that he only quoted removal of specific dead tree limbs. He was rude, disparaging, and threatened to put a lien on my house if I only provided partial payment for a partially completed job. This company may have the equipment and manpower, but they lack customer service and common sense. Filed compliant with BBB. Would never recommend their services, not even to my worst enemy. Avoid at all costs.

They came right out to do the estimate and did a very good job. They came two days later to do the trees and only took about 3-4 hours. Very good people and very courteous with good clean-up after.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. I used to be a customer of Morningstar Tree Services. Apparently Van Curen bought Morningstar. Van Curen is horrible. They gave me a quote on one job in August of 2017. They did not do any of the work until December of 2017. They never completed the work. They never removed the stumps of the trees they took down. I paid them in full and they never returned to remove the stumps. Every time I called they put me off. Then they claimed that they were not sure which stumps needed to be ground out even though the stumps were from the trees they had removed. They came out in December to cut up a tree that had fallen across my driveway. As of March they had not returned to remove the rest of the fallen tree. They are awful. Do not use them. Every time you call you get an excuse and then they want to schedule yet another appointment with yet another estimator to change the price you were quoted. I have no idea how they stay in business.

City actually came and did most of the work for them as it was laying across road and sidewalk. I was not home but neighbor confirmed this. Then when I questioned their work because there was still a large amount of damage in the tree, the guy said we will come back and finish. He never did.

I had two huge trees removed.  They came twice.  Each time they did one tree.

Price was maybe a bit high, but the work was done well and quickly. They brought in two heavy pieces of equipment, and both had stabilizers that came out to level it. One did put a significant hole in my yard. I'm ok with it ... but that was slightly annoying.

It is always just fine. The trees look great.

It was okay. I think they're rather expensive. The contractor have used them for the clearing but I probably wouldn't have use them otherwise. As a matter of fact, I had them did something since then and they've always been tired and I also felt that they really didn't want to work.

Have used them for 10+ years and will continue to use them.

We called them a year ago, and they took care of it. We had to have them back out this year, because the disease came back, to which they came twice, without hestitation.

They did what they were supposed to do. They had to use my neighbor’s driveway and they were careful with their property. I would hire them again.

They hauled all the debris away. They were careful about the wires over the trees near the house. They didn’t do any damage to the yard. Their price was good.

I have been using them for years. They are very good and knowledgeable. They do a great job; they do exactly what they say they are going to do. Very qualified people working for them and they clean up everything when they are finished. They give me advice on landscaping issues and I m always satisfied with them. I would recommend to anyone.

They cut down the tree and it was supposed to be "cut large wood into firewood lengths", however, the wood that was left was very large and cut into pieces. The larger pieces were 37" x 32" and 36" x 32". These sizes are too heavy to lift and will not fit into the fireplace. When I called them to inquire why they did not cut down to firewood length, the owner got on the phone and was argumentative. He would neither cut it into firewood nor remove the firewood. So, I have had to contact another service provider to take care of this. It was originally stated that they would cut the large wood into firewood lengths.

The arborist was very eager to share his knowledge and did his bet to make sure that I understood what my trees needed. We have had several trees deep-fertilized and will have tome insecticide treatments completed next Spring.

Van Curen gang of 3 was on time, did what was needed to those big trees. Cleaned up and I am set for 5 years.

On time, polite, fast, and professional. Left large wood on property as requested, cut into 18" firewood lengths, neatly stacked. No messes left behind.

Van Curen refused to honor the originally quoted price of $375 to treat the American Elm. When the arborist came out, after we called to report leaves falling from the Elm, he told us that the tree had Dutch Elm disease and that the price to treat the tree was $800. When asked to honor the original quote, he said that he had misquoted the price, and he made no effort to apologize or reduce the price. We got a different tree service, higher rated by Angie's List members, to come out immediately for a price of $400. Further, our contract with Van Curen called for them to treat our Elm in May/June. They had not come out to perform the service until I called, the second week in June. Perhaps their failure to follow their own schedule on the signed contract we had with them may have cost us our tree. The Van Curen Arborist even said ''the spring has been very hard on elms'' and yet his company made no effort to protect a tree they were specifically under contract to maintain.

THE WORKERS WERE VERY POLITE AND DID A GOOD JOB. WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY BEFORE AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SATISFIED.

VERY PROMPT SERVICE. I RECEIVED AN ESTIMATE WITHIN A COUPLE DAYS OF MY REQUEST AND THE WORK WAS COMPLETED WITHIN A WEEK AFTER THAT. THEY REMOVED ALL THE CLIPPINGS AND BRANCHES, AND CLEAN UP WAS COMPLETE.
