North Central Insulation installed our gas logs on our existing, but never been used, gas line. So, they uncapped the line and installed the logs. About two hours later I opened our basement door to be nearly knocked over by the smell of gas. I grabbed my 3 year old and rushed out of the house and across the street. When the fire department and gas company arrived and shut off the gas they were surprised to hear that we had just had the logs installed and the company didn't check the line. When I told Jeff, the manager at NCI, about what had happened, he said that when our house was inspected, three years ago when we moved in, they should have checked the line. I find that hard to believe since the line was capped off at the time. We had another company come out to fix the cracked line and they said the installers should have checked the line. So, I would never hire NCI again and I hope they start checking the gas lines they open before they leave a customer's house.

They were quick and paid a lot of attention to detail. I noticed that any place that was too small for them to stuff the insulation, they caulked - even places I wouldn't expect it (around the floor, etc.). They completed the job in a timely fashion.
