Excellent contractor. We just completed our second project with Mr Compton and we are very satisfied.Polite, professional and punctual. All work was completed on schedule and in accordance with our estimate. Attention to detail, finishes, safety and cleanliness was exceptional. We plan to use Compton construction for our next project.

Excellent! Ed came over to inspect the deck and show us samples of materials. Once we settled on materials Ed ordered them and they were delivered in a short time. They began work soon after (dodging thunderstorms was necessary). Ed took time to explain to us what he was doing at each step, and was really good at keeping on time. We are very pleased with how the deck turned out, and grateful for the careful work they did. All in all, Ed did a quality job at a competitive price and stayed on time for the work. We will call Ed for future projects for sure.

Ed and Cody were timely and efficient with their work. They communicated their progress daily and kept us apprised of upcoming work in the next few days. The finished remodel looks fantastic and we’re thrilled with the job they did!

Ed and his son were very thorough, professional and did a great job installing my new front door and sidelights (that I purchased from someone else). His price was very reasonable, and he even took the time to fix a few hinges on some interior doors without additional charge when he was finished. Naomi (in the office) always promptly responded to my emails about the project. I highly recommend them!

Ed suggested the vinyl wrap and plastic wood trim. He was my third estimate and had a completely different solution than the first two contractors which was not only in keeping with the rest of the exterior but maintenance free and affordable. He also did a couple of other minor exterior items and the entire job came out great! Thanks, Ed!

Ed was an absolute pleasure working with. Great communicator and excellent craftsmanship from start to finish. I knew what was going on the entire time and knew that he was going above and beyond to make sure we were happy but also getting the best job done to make sure we would not have any further issues. We could not be happier with the work Ed Comptom Construction did for us. They performed a complete remodel of our 40 year-old kitchen, front hall, back hall, and half bath. The work involved removing the old kitchen, including the drywall, tile floor, and 1970s era (plumbing containing) soffits that were everywhere. They re-routing plumbing and drains, upgraded electric, replaced a garden window, patio door, front door, storm door, and garage entry door. They installed new drywall on the ceilings, and walls, painted, installed six new interior doors, trim and base boards and new flooring throughout. Ed and his apprentice grandson, Blain, are master craftsmen who pay attention to detail and provide a quality of work that his hard to find today. Ed told us he would treat our home as his own and we found this to be true. They always showed up when they said they would, gave our project their full attention, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves on a daily basis. Our home was always left in as much a functional conition as possible at the end of each day. Given the size of our project, we had few unforseen problems, and for the few that we did Ed always had an efficient solution to solve them. Most, if not all, were encounted and solved before we even got home from work. Their fit and finsh work is excellent. We absolutely would recommend Ed Compton constuction and we will use them again for future projects.

Amazing. Ed is the best of the best! Highly recommend! Ed Gave us exactly what we needed. Our garage to our home was too small the double door exterior had a pillar in the middle and we we’re unable to pull cars in and out comfortably. Ed fixed it, reconstructed the exterior stone, and his garage door man gave us the exact clopay wooden door we wanted with a “custom made” size we couldn’t order in store to boot. Ed was not just our contractor but now a life long friend. A+++

Ed Compton Construction did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them. From the first visit to evaluate and get information for the estimate to the very end they were very thorough, cleaned up well, and the work was top notch. They did the work over a weekend. Ed and his grandson arrived on time and worked very diligently to do the work promised. Ed kept me informed of the progress and the work being done. Ed even came out a week before the major work was to be completed and fixed an electrical outlet so I could restore electricity to my bathroom. I can't emphasis enough the high level of professionalism and top notch care and craftmanship that I received. You will not be disappointed I highly recommend Ed Compton Construction

Ed Compton researched and matched the siding and roofing materials we needed for the repairs and carried out the work on site to a high standard of craftmanship.

Project was a long one. Gutted just about 1/3 of the house, top to bottom. Removed a wall to create more open space for a off kitchen dinning area. Removed all ceiling and wall drywall along with the old cellulose insulation in ceiling area. Ed found a problem with the ceiling rafters/joist that was not properly supported so they had to cut in, add joist hangers and put in a pair of new stringers for the support. Ed and Tom put in new insulation in the walls and ceiling. Re-worked the electrical with new lines, boxes, outlets and also ran 4 new lines from the breaker box. They added some additional boxes for ceiling lights and for a garbage disposal. Removed all the old interior door and replaced with solid oak doors. Tom did a fine job at finishing the doors, 9 doors total. All new door trim and base board added, again they was finished by Tom. All new drywall put in, 40, 12ft. sheets. All new Armstrong Alterna floor tile was put down on top of new laminate floor sheeting. Tile was adhesive glued, butt jointed with no grouting in diamond pattern. Walls and ceilings was painted. New kitchen cabinets installed on feet with no toe kick. Ed reworked some of the plumbing to accommodate a new built in dishwasher. Installed new 36inch Range hood for the new Thor gas range/oven. Ed also replace old bathroom fan and that was a big improvement. Ed also made a new pantry area with a frosted glass pantry door installed. Ed reframed a wall to accept a 36 inch frig and recessed it so it would be flush mounted with the kitchen cabinets. Ed and Tom also in one day built a new front patio deck with new railing. Removal of the old cement stoop was hard and a electric jack hammer was rented to finish with. Ed skirted the new deck with the same vinyl siding that they installed last year on the house. Very nice curb appeal now. As I said before this was a big job, and the work shows excellent results. I would like to also say thank you to the following vendors.. Dianna at Famous Supply@Newark for the design and cabinets. Granville lumber for the nice wood and railing for the deck. Cambria countertops for the beautiful countertop in the Lancaster design.

Our projecte was to have a 10' by 11' bedroom remodeled/refreshed. Project addressed the following areas: 1. Repair, as necessary, drywall in the room. 2. Paint the walls & ceiling. 3. Removal of existing carpet. 4. Refinishing of underlying wood floors (original to house). 5. Install base boards and window trim. Ed & Tom performed the work over two weekends. They arrived on time each day worked and cleaned up after themselves upon departure each day. The project was fairly easy, but time consuming. Ed & Tom are great contractors and I will not hesitate to use them again in the future.

Ed and his helper, Tom, were always on time and always busy completing their tasks. They always cleaned up at the end of the day. Ed is an expert in construction having also erected a 35' x 50' attached garage for us in 2010. The restraining strips for our front storm door did not arrive with the door. Ed ordered them and just came back yesterday to install them. I did not have worry about if he would be back to finish the job. I trusted him to do that.

I requested an estimate online via Angie’s List. They called me back the next day and arranged estimate for later in the week. Ed showed up when he said he would. Talked me through what he was seeing and how he could fix it. I received my estimate in about 10 days time and we scheduled the job. Ed and Tom arrived as scheduled and worked all day to make repairs. They cleaned up after themselves and explained what they were doing when I popped in to watch. I’m very pleased with the quality of work. The whole process from estimate to job completion was a pleasure. Will hire again.

Ed was great to work with during the process of remodeling our bathroom. We spoke with a few contractors, but Ed was the easiest to talk to and had the best price. He does quality work and cared about what we wanted and thought. There was a small miscommunication about the type of faucet but he fixed it right away and got exactly what we wanted. He has a lot of experience and cares about the work he does and people he works for. I would recommend Ed to others looking to remodel. Our bathroom turned out better than I thought it would and it’s exactly want I wanted it to be!

Ed and Matt were not only very friendly but very skilled and experienced. They took measures to keep as much dust as possible out of our home which I appreciated. Did a good job cleaning up each dayand finished the job in what my husband and I thought was a reasonable amount of time. Ed offered good suggestions and ideas for our projects and we are happy with the end results . They went above and beyond and put longer screws in several of our doors that were sagging .Our overall experience with them was very positive and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to family and friends.

Fantastic. Ed and Matt did all the work in about 4 days. They didn't finish patching the siding on Friday like they had hoped and Ed came back on Saturday afternoon to get it completed. They worked every day from about 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. and it was HOT. They were effecient, knowledgable, and friendly. We had been referred to him by some friends who had just had their porch roof torn off and replaced by him. Our friends had contacted many companies for an estimate and told us that he was one of the most reasonable of the few who ever bothered to call them back or come out for an estimate. As we talked to Ed during our first meeting for the estimate, it was realized that he had worked on the house for the previous owners and had been part of a crew that had done the front porch, room addition and the siding on this house about 20 years ago. All that work is still in place and was done wonderfully so that gave us confidence in hiring him. Also, his estimate was accurate and there were no surprise hidden fees or adjustments. We were lucky enough to catch him in between jobs with a week of downtime before starting a big job but our friends had to wait several weeks while he finished another job so if you need something done, I recommend contacting Ed in advance to get on his schedule. We are beyond pleased and will contact him for any future work we decide to have done.

Replacing the doors was a tough job. Ed had to cut block/brick out to resize the opening to fit a standard size door. This also meant a new door framing to be completed first before the door was fitted into place. New flashing was formed to cover exposed wood around doors along with new bottom sills. The family room took a little more work to complete than expected, but by no fault of Mr.Compton and Matt. Found a covered window behind the wall. We elected to have 2 new windows installed and they also had to have block/brick cut out for new window size and new framing. The room required all new studs, new drywall to be finished, ready for paint. Some electric wiring was performed for new outlets plus new breaker in electric panel added. We elected to do the painting and finish trim work. Over all for both jobs and work performed was excellent. job site was cleaned up daily. Both Ed and Matt was friendly and polite.

We were very pleased with the entire experience in dealing with Ed Compton Construction. They returned our phone calls and showed up when they said they were going to. We were not hit with any hidden costs or surprises. Before choosing a company, we called around and got three estimates. Their estimate was the best price by far and also offered us the most. As it was a very busy time for the company we had to wait a few weeks to be worked in. Ed offered to come over and put a temporary fix on our roof to prevent further damage (as well as stop the leaking in our bedroom). We've already recommend them to a friend and will use them again if need be.
