$750
I own a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu. For about 6 days, my brakes were squealing, so I took the car to DLS. I had gotten other repairs done there, and had purchased my most recent set of tires there as well. They were quick to get my car up on the rack, though if I had come later in the day, it probably would have taken longer. I found out that the front brakes were extremely bad (which was where the noise was coming from), needing brakes, pads and calipers replaced, and the rear brakes needed brakes and pads, total cost a little over $900.00. I am on a pension and $900.00 is a major expense. The guy seemed to detect the concern (actually panic) in my face, so started breaking down the estimate into smaller blocks. He told me the front brakes were an emergency measure, something that had to be done immediately. He said the cost for that would be about $763.00. The rear brakes needed to be repaired as soon as possible, but they could wait for a little while. I explained the financial situation and opted for the front brakes only at this time, plus an alignment and oil change. I had purchased my tires at DLS and had a lifetime free alignment agreement, so that was not an additional cost. They showed me to their "lounge" where they have a couch, chairs including a recliner, a large screen television, free coffee and vending machines. They had to go to Columbus (30 miles away) to pick up the parts (I believe they had everything but the calipers in stock). After a while the man at the desk informed me that (for some reason) my vehicle required a less common part than most Chevy Malibu's and it took a little more time to find it. The driver was on his way and they would install it as soon as it arrived. I decided to walk across the street to have lunch. When I returned, the car was finished and parked by the door. In my review I did not give perfect marks on the price. That does not mean I think DLS was any more expensive than the other places in the Heath/Newark area where I could have taken the car. It was because the cost of auto care everywhere is ridiculously high. I have used DLS 4 or 5 times in the past 3 years, and have found there work to be quick, good, and competitively priced. They talk to the customer and explain what is wrong and what is not wrong with your car, and give you options for repair. In Heath and Newark, I have several options when my car needs work. Out of all of them, I chose DLS and was very comfortable in that choice.
