We had Diana over on 5-13-14 to measure and give us an estimate for 20 windows total. That day we placed the order for the routeless faux wood blinds. On 5-28-14, Jim called me out of blue and told me my blinds were in and if I had some time they could install them. It was my day off so they were over faster then I could take my blinds down (you do have to take your old window coverings down or you are charged extra, and no they wont take them for you). So as they got set up, I was busy going around removing blinds. They said the verticals were still on order and had not arrived from the factory, but we were just happy to have decent window coverings. The other thing was that the factory had sent 2 left pieces for the valance for the kitchen and it wouldnt ship until June 13 due to a material outage at the factory.
On Monday 6-2-14, Jim called me and stated he had my verticals and wanted to install them at 9am on Tuesday 6-3-14. He would also look at one blind that stopped opening/closing and the blind on our kitchen door that was mounted too low and interferes with the door knob.
I had not heard from Budget Blinds about my remaining valance so on Wednesday, 6-18-14, I emailed Jim. He responded and said it should be in early next week. On Thursday, 6-19-14, he called while I was at work and my wife answered to tell us that they are in and that he wanted to come over right away and install the valance. My wife is and quot;on calland quot; for her job and stated she would have preferred after 4:30pm so that I can be home should she get called in, but Jim insisted.
So, it took about a month and a half to close out this project in full. We love our blinds. I just kinda wish they were more flexible scheduling wise. They did help me take down my original blinds since they stopped by on a whim (normally they dont) and it seemed like they were a little insistent that the work be done mostly on their schedule if at all possible. Overall, pretty good to deal with and would deal with them again.

I would probably use the company so that I could use the same wrap. We were fine but I have heard from a lot of people that they have used different ones who may have helped us a lot more. I had refused but I would probably use the one in my area instead of getting the one I got was in a different area.

Overall my experience with Budget Blinds was unfortunately very negative. Whereas the owner was very charming, attractive and fun the rest of the experience was not. The quality of the blinds were very good. The prices were not as good as the name implies. There were problems with installation, meaning I did not get what I ordered. I had new blinds installed on three windows but all three windows were done incorrectly. That required a second and third visit. Ultimately I did not get what I ordered and felt that I paid too much. They were also late and did not keep their scheduled appointment for the installation. I would like to emphasize that the problems I had were mainly with the installer and the installation and not the quality of the blinds. They all look pretty good but the measurements were off and they did not keep their appointment time. Who knows, she could have changed installers since then but I just think people should know what happened.

I will use them again in the future.

They were excellent and I have no complaints on them.They did our rooms.And the windows look great.

We have 12' west facing, arched windows in our dining room, part of our great room. I have struggled for 10 years trying to come up with a solution to keep the heat out in the summer and in during the winter. I had already had window tinting applied, with no significant improvement. In addition to the heat, we had problems with glare. Through a redesign consultation, Beth Batke (separate report) recommended Diana and Budget Blinds. Diana came out the next day with solution options. My only real option was drapes and we found a beautiful fabric that she had installed in other homes with great success.There was sticker shock, but the size of the windows demanded a custom solution, so I knew I'd have to pay more for them. We chose a "rod" from Fortin Iron Works (my favorite store) because of the strength of the steel to hold 12' of drapes. They were running behind because of a large job they were working on, but I didn't hear from Diana directly about the delay until I asked Beth to have her call me. The installer called ahead to schedule a time and was a little late, but it worked out beautifully because he installed the same day I had the room re-designed. They are gorgeous and I can't believe I can finally close them for those few hours when the sun is the worst. I will be calling Diana to help with the other windows in the room.

Contacted Budget Blinds as a result of good ratings on Angie's List. Diana Prescott, sales consultant, came to the house on her day off and displayed all the options that were available. Diana knows her blinds very well. The blinds came in two weeks later and the owner, Jim Hyslop, came out for the installation. Jim arrived early and did a wonderful job. This was a pleasant experience.

Excellent from start to finish! Diana came to our house for the estimate. Showed us our options and measured each window. Was not high pressure even though we were not ready to buy at that time. Checked in approximately 3 months later and advised us of an upcoming price increase. We decided to go ahead. In less then 2 weeks our blinds were in and the installers were great. They were in an out in about 30 minutes. Cleaned up and left no mess. We absolutely love the blinds and highly recommend this company and sales consultant!

PRICE WAS GOOD. GOOD QUALITY PRODUCT. PROMPT RESPONSE ON IN-HOME CONSULT. INSTALLATION WAS QUICK, AND CLEAN.

WE LIKED THEIR PRODUCT AND WE LIKED JIM, SO WE DIDN'T COMPARISON SHOP FOR PRICE. JIM SPENT A LOT OF TIME WITH US HELPING US CHOOSE OUR PRODUCTS.
