A & B FENCE

A&B did a great job pulling out the old rotted posts from the old fence, and securing new ones with concrete. The new fence is beautiful. Brian Wills was courteous, professional, and made sure the work was done quickly and at a reasonable price. A&B is not the cheapest, but they are not the most expensive either... I am guessing mid-range as far as price goes. For the quality of work and the responsiveness of Brian, it was certainly worth the money.

A and B did exactly what they said they'd do and the work looked good. They started the work 3 weeks after we signed the contract, which was the time frame they said it would take. The only thing that was a bit annoying was when the work started, I was told it would take 2 days (since the concrete would take a day to set), though it was a Thursday when the work began, so they ended up resuming work the following Tuesday. The only problem was they underestimated the amount of horse fence needed by about 5 feet, and temporarily put chain link fence in that gap, (I think only because we were asking when they'd be done since we had puppies that needed to run the yard without the worry they would get out). So, what should have taken two days, or at least be finished by the following Monday, took a full week.
The only thing I would have done different after picking A and B Fence over the other fence estimates we had gotten would be; to be more specific about how long installation would take after the work began, and about the little things like where and how they tie the ends together (ex: If I preferred they cut it at post instead of tied together in between, because it might look better to some that way). I thought maybe the contractor would come within a week after the work was done and walk the fence and inspect the work before sending the bill to make sure we're happy with it and everything was done right, but they didn't. I suppose they would address any complaints if we called. Otherwise, it was a good first time professional fence installation experience.

Overall, I was very satisfied with the way things went. Brian came out to give me an estimate and discuss options. The estimate was mailed to me and included several different pricing options for each of the different materials I was interested in. I selected my choice, signed the estimate, and returned it to the company. At that point I was given a tentative time period for the work. It ended up getting pushed back a couple of weeks, but we had just had a major storm that ripped trees out and damaged a lot of property so they were backlogged. BUT, they did confirm the start date and showed up on time!
The upside is that the owner, Brian, is very professional and helpful, as is the woman who runs the office. The guys worked quickly and relatively cleanly. They were very nice, especially given the fact that I kept checking up on them and asking questions. I also decided to put the gate latch on the opposite side of what was originally planned and they handled that without issue. They ran into some problems lining up the slats correctly in a tricky area, but fixed it on their own and to my satisfaction.
The downside is that they broke my old terra cotta sewer drain pipe when digging one of the post holes, which I was not happy about, but they did fix the connection as far as I can tell. I saw the guys throw their cigarette butts into the post holes a couple of times, which also did not make me happy because those do not biodegrade. I was annoyed that they killed a bug that frightened them, even after I said I'd go get something to put it in. I don't kill bugs and don't appreciate other people doing it for no reason either.
I was very nervous, given that most of my experiences with home services has been pretty negative, with rude workers and broken promises. Not this company! They did everything they said they'd do. Although the workers themselves made a few mistakes, the work seems to be done well.
The estimate was accurate, there was no money down, and there were multiple payment options. The work was done on schedule, on two separate occasions, over the course of five days. The price was good, compared to other companies I have received estimates from.

It turned out excellent. He explained everything to me. They did their work promptly.
