They didn't give me a real contract. It was written as a bill or invoice. I was told I would get a real contract later on. I thought I would give them a chance. I gave them $300 up front for materials. He started to complain about the the paint chipping and so I have him an extra $400 for a sander, sand paper, and other equipment. He started to complain about not being able to pay his crew to work. All these different problems of personal nature that he was always bringing up. He brought up personal issues with his mom, then he got into a truck accident, then his aunt was in the hospital, and lastly his wife was in an accident. I was trying to be nice and understanding with him. The first time I fired him, he got very loud and aggressive with me in my own home. He contacted me again, said he wanted to redeem himself. I spoke to me again, and said I would allow him to come back. He father then told me that he wasn't making any money on my job, and that I have to give home $800 up front for him to do the job. So he was at my house again, and he was loud and aggressive. He goes out to the garage like he was going to start working. Then his sister came to my house, and came into it without my permission. She started telling me I had to give her $800 upfront too. They wanted to chip off the old paint, and I said I don't want it chipped. I want it sanded first, then painted. I even had a salesman from Lowe's that came to look at my gutters to replace make a comment about the work that they did so far. I ask my son to call the sister to handle it. She thought I was going to pay them $400, but I only imply that because I wanted her to leave. I didn't sign anything. The sister was suppose to come to see my son this morning (10/10/16) but she never came to rectify the situation. I was very polite, offered drink and lunch. They are trying to tell me I'm difficult to work with. I would never ever use them again. They are going to come up with some execute, they always have. I think he under bid the job from another contractor that gave me a bid of $2,600. He did this to get the job, and then realized that the job was more then that. I don't even know if they really wanted to do the work or if they just saw me as a cash flow.
