All went very well except dismissal. My surgeon was out of town the second day after surgery and the one setting in for her was supposed to see me. He never came and told them by phone to send me home. I was supposed to be there 3-5 days and was not ready to go home, but they sent me home anyway and I was not happy with how they handled it. I think this slowed my recovery. I was quite happy with my treatment except for that. I fault the stand-in doctor for not coming to see me.

I have had numerous gynecological procedures and surgeries (as well as two deliveries) performed by this physician since 1982. Obviously he's doing something right, as I haven't considered going to another OBGYN in all that time. He is very personable, and takes time to listen to your concerns; also, he doesn't make you feel like an idiot if you ask questions. Occasionally there is a bit of a wait, but I consider that worth it.

They are apparently at war with a large insurance company, and refuse to cover anyone in the community with that insurance. The hospital provides no coverage for the employees where I work. There is a large segment of the community that can't get in network coverage because the hospital won't accept it. The doctor's won't accept it because they can't get the patients in the hospital. They keep saying they are doing things to fix it, but nothing has been done for two years. Because of it we have had to find another doctor, which we have to drive 25 miles to see. I would not use this provider again.

"Knox Community Hospital leadership is working with Anthem to reach an agreement. Care would never be refused to anyone, with or without insurance. Additional means of payment may need to be reached in the event that the patient carries Anthem at this time, but care will always be provided. KCH is a not-for-profit facility with the goal of caring for families in Knox County. I have never had any problems there. The people are very nice there. The people and all the departments that I have dealt with are very nice. The nurses are really nice. They know what they are doing. They are caring and knowledgeable. They don’t treat you like a number; you are a person. I would use them in the future.
