Bob Hawk Sewer & Drain

Description of Work: Our basement flooded for the second time since March 2012. We had previously called RotoRooter and were extremely dissatisfied with their service all around. After dealing with Bob Hawk, it is now crystal clear that RotoRooter did not do what they should have! Bob Hawk Sewer and Drain was very knowledgeable about the problem and I am confident that he actually fixed it. Water backed up in our basement after a heavy rain, due to a blockage in the mainline leading to the city waste water system. Bob accessed the mainline, only to discover that there was a trap preventing the 4 inch auger from getting out to the line. They then tried to access the mainline through the basement toilet, only to find that there was a trap there as well. This meant, then, that there was no way to reach the line from inside the house, except to dig out some of the basement floor and install a new access. We were freaked out at this prospect because insurance was not going to cover it, but because Bob knows what he is doing and has connections with the city Water Department, he was able to gain access through a manhole and auger the pipe from there. A big ball of tree roots was pulled out of the line and then the line was augered a second time to ensure it was all clear. The basement drained immediately! This is a far cry from what RotoRooter did in March-- they simply stuck a 3 inch auger down the upstairs toilet, poked a hole in the roots, and got the water to go through. They also made a huge mess and charged a lot more money than Bob Hawk did! Plus his work is guaranteed for a year! I plan on getting the root killer treatment next summer, as Bob Hawk suggested, and I now know who to call for any plumbing issue!
