They did an excellent job on my driveway at a good price. Everything was symmetrical and they took great care in making sure everything was coated evenly. The communication was amazing. Highly recommend.

In brief: do not hire them: they do not fill the cracks well, they do not fill the holes at all. This is our experience: They provided a quote over the phone, not in writing, and it was higher than another company, but we chose them because they were able to schedule earlier than others. The day before the scheduled day, they called to say that the driveway is rough and that the result will not be perfect. It got me a bit concerned, but I said that I do not expect it to be new but that it would be repaired and seal coated. When they did job, they left a hole at the beginning of the driveway untouched, and they did not fill any holes in the rest of it. Even the cracks filling was not well done at all. It is like a thin layer that was put on top, not really filling. I called them right away, before their guys even left, and they said that they never agreed to filling the holes or repairing, they only agreed to filling the cracks! What good is a driveway / parking lot if the holes are not filled to protect it from water damage! I am not in this business, I do not know the technical words. We wanted it repaired and coated to protect it from the weather. Now we paid $895, and it is like a black paint job, which will do nothing to protect it from the weahter. Lesson: Do not hire this company. Always ask for a written quote with details.
Response from Premium Sealcoat LLC
"At Premium Sealcoat we alway strive to provide the best service as possible and to convey properly what should be expected from our service. We tried to convey to you that the condition of the parking lot was so poor that sealcoating would do little to help it and would really only improve the appearance. The parking lot had several areas that where so badly deteriorated that they were just gravel. We did not quote or agree to replace asphalt in those areas. Sealer will not "fill" the surface of your parking lot. Sealer will seal the surface. This parking lot was deteriorated to the point that it needs to be replaced. This was something we tried to make clear before we came out. You decided that you understood the sealcoat would not give you a new parking lot and that you wanted to go ahead and seal it anyway. We are very sorry we did not communicate better to you what sealcoating can provide and what it cannot."

I have used Premium Sealcoat to seal my asphalt driveway three times. I was highly satisfied with the work the first two times (2013, 2015) and did not hesitate to use them again in 2017. However, this latest job was far from highly satisfying. I used their website to schedule the job by choosing an available calendar date approximately 10 days in advance. I was subsequently contacted by phone to say that the date I chose was not available due to a problem with their scheduling system - not a big deal since this type of work is often postponed due to weather anyway. On the day the work was performed, I was fortunate enough to return home as the crew was mostly through and I parked in the street. I immediately spotted one crew member using my lawn like a doormat in an attempt to remove sealer from his shoes. I can only presume he didn’t know I was the homeowner at that moment. Unprofessional. Regardless, the job to this point appeared excellent. I later returned outside to inspect the work after it was completed and the crew members had left. Although the portion of the driveway that I had seen earlier was in fact expertly applied and looking great, the remainder was a disaster. It was inexplicable to me how this could be or why the crew would leave the job with the driveway in this condition. Whereas most of the driveway was smooth with the sealer uniformly applied, the last 20% or so was extremely streaky (like it was applied with a push broom), had chunks of debris like mulch and leaves sealed over, was unevenly applied with excess ridges of sealer and even visible footprints. The sidewalk was stained with sealer, perhaps related to the footprints in the driveway. I found cigarette butts in the landscaping. The previous two times Premium Sealcoat had done my driveway, they used stakes and orange tape to rope off the driveway while the sealer dried, roping off both the main driveway and the driveway skirt separately so that the tape did not block pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk (which is a sign of professionalism I had come to expect). This time they roped off the sidewalk. I called Premium Sealcoat home office immediately that afternoon to tell them about the problems. I was told they would handle it, but did not say how or when. I assumed a supervisor would come right away or I would receive a follow-up phone call from someone. For the next 24 hours… nothing. I placed a follow-up call. Since no one had come to inspect the work, I told them I had taken photos that I could send. They provided an email address where I could send them and was told that they could send a supervisor in a few days since they were busy with another larger job. A representative did come three days later. The explanation for the poor work to the last 20% of the driveway was due to the fact that too much sealer was poured at the bottom of the driveway before it could be spread and smoothed. This caused it to dry too quickly, thus the streaks. Further, too much sealer was applied. The remedy was to have the excess sealer removed and then the entire driveway re-done. The sealer stains on the sidewalk would have to be pressure washed to be removed and would be taken care of separately from the driveway re-do. I was told the office would contact me to schedule the work, which they did a day or two later for the driveway portion. The sealing re-do was performed two weeks after the original job. Although this re-do did improve things, it did not fix the streaky application from the first job. I emailed before and after photos to Premium Sealcoat to ask if they considered the problem remedied and to ask if this is the best result I could hope for. I also asked when I can expect the sidewalk to be addressed. I received no response after a week. “Past performance in no guarantee of future results” would definitely apply to Premium Sealcoat. Although my first two sealcoat jobs with them were excellent, the third has been well below average. For future work, I will definitely be seeking a different vendor.

It went great! I received letter with an estimate, I called and booked an appointment, I put it on my credit card, which they did not run until the driveway was complete, I did not have to be there, and it looked great when they were done. They said I could book online with the web ID from my mailer, so I will do that next time.

Premium Seal Coat mails flyers every year (mass marketing) where they provide lowcost estimates for driveway sealcoating. I go to a website that has no information other than allowing me to enter your customer code and schedule the service. I've used them before and my experience was that after they arrive they say that additional work is needed because of the condition of the driveway and charge accordingly. So, I make sure I am there when they do the work.

This year I had sold my house and no longer lived there. The current owner used the flyer received in the mail and set up an appt. with Premium Seal Coat (the estimate on the flyer is $240, or $235 if done by a certain day). The company not only charged my credit card for the seal coat, but upcharged the service an additional $80 over the estimated amount on the flyer. They did not get permission for the additional work from me. On May 22, somebody from Premium Seal Coat called and left a message on my cell saying additional materials were needed that would cost $80 and to call back and give permission for the additional work. I didn't speak to her,or call her back, however the $80 was added and the total charged on my credit card was $315.

I called the company when I saw the charge on my credit card. The receptionist Becky apologized and said she'd send a check, but never did. She also refused to give me the owner's last name, which I thought was odd, especially because it can be found here on Angie's list.

I contacted my credit card company. Premium Seal Coat refused to reverse the $315 charge. Premium Seal Coat continued to insist I owed the money, including the $80 upcharge. The new owner of my old house got involved in August and paid the company the full amount for the service. I again disputed the charge through my credit card, and Premium Seal Coat CONTINUED to refuse to reverse the charge. At that point, they had been paid twice, by me in May, and by the new owner in August.

Finally, I went again to the new owner of my old house and got the receipt that Premium Seal Coat themselves had given the new owner showing the service was paid by her. I presented this receipt through the credit card company, AND THEN Premium Seal Coat reversed the charge. A few days after I posted this review, the owner called and left a voice message saying she will sue for slander if I don't remove it.

Premium Sealcooat provided a defective product, agreed it needed to be remedied and would be, but then refused to provide the correction without an additional significant charge.

I have modified my review to reflect the redo on my driveway. After the first installation of sealer a thunderstorm hit right afterward. I had warned the installers the storm was coming. The rain splashed tar all over my garage doors and washed out portions of the sealer. I called Premium to get them to fix and after two weeks of no show / response, I painted the garage door myself, put some crack sealer in some of the washed out spots and did my (fairly negative) review.

After the review was published they called to say they meant to come out to repair but had been busy. Maybe. In any case, we did schedule a return and they did put down a second coat. Weather this time was perfect for sealing.

I would say if I was to use them again in the future, I would be very insistent on the weather being sunny for a day after the sealing.Even if they felt it was OK to do it, I would use my own judgement and cancel the appt if it looked like rain. If weather is good then they are fine and put down a nice seal job for a reasonable fee.

I would probably forego any additional charges for "patching" and "high end" crack sealer they offer. The cartridge crack filler I used from Lowes does a better job than the liquid they use, in my opinion.

"I am very sorry for the issue that you had with rain & the garage door, I was not aware of the situation. I will give you a call in the morning to see if there is anything we can do."

We had somebody come up for driveways and asphalt and they are Premium Sealcoat LLC. They came the day they would and they were gone. They did a fine job, it was fine, it was good. I have no complaints with them at all. My husband is satisfied too. I would grade them 'A' all the way through.
