We're very happy with our newly refinished floors and the job performed by B&D hardwood floors. It is easy for a company to achieve good reviews when they do good work, but more important is how they perform when things go wrong. Because we were having the main portion of our home refinished, including two stairways, we planned a short trip out of town to avoid the worry of walking on newly finished floors. When we returned (on a Sunday), we were disappointed to find several floor issues/items had not been addressed or repaired. I was expecting a difficult discussion come Monday morning, but instead was pleasantly surprised! Gary and his team agreed that there were some problems and explained that the supervisor, with whom I had discussed specifics, had been out sick the past few days. Justin and Josue spent the next 3 days fixing ALL of the problems, applied an extra finish coat on the entire floor, and did a superb job, leaving our house both clean and beautiful! I anticipated there would be some additional costs tacked on to the final bill, but instead it was only $15 over the original estimate (which was more than fair given the “adds” and “subtracts” from the initial work estimate). Bottom line, B&D does fantastic work and provides great customer service. I would definitely recommend and use them again.

I hired them to convert my new home from carpeting to hardwood floors; about 2000 Sq ft. The price was lowest of all bids, but he did not sacrifice on quality. He also converted two staircases to matching hardwood. His team was always on time, professional and friendly, and they finished ahead of schedule while working around my other contractors. My only complaint has been that some of the gaps between the floor and my wall are wider than my base boards, and had to be filled in. In their defense, I switched to slightly thinner base boards, but I think they should have anticipated that possibility. Overall a great experience at a fair cost, and I will recommend them to my friends and family. Price included them halling away all the construction debris.

It was amazing! The team was so responsive. They were professional, friendly, and worked very hard. They came when they said they would, and talked to us throughout the process. We were so pleased - they showed us several stains on the flooring so we could choose the best color, especially since the pine flooring had been installed at different times in the past 80 years. They communicated well, got the job completed as promised, and cleaned up before leaving each day.

B&D gave us a quote along with two other companies. The price was fair and the finished product far exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be using B&D to refinish floors in future projects.

Gary showed up on time for the estimate and gave me professional advice on the floor that I had replaced. He definitely has vast experience and I was confident from his explanations that he had the competence to do a good job. The quality of their work did not disappoint. The floors are beautiful and certainly enhance the appearance of the house. I continue to receive many compliments. The end result is excellent. At the time the work was done they were overbooked and since I wasn't yet living in the house I feel my job was delayed and took much longer than expected. That is my only complaint but since the end result is so good this is not effecting my rating.

B&D was fantastic.  From the very beginning they were honest and straightforward.  They arrived for the quote at the expected time.  They were able to fit us in on a very limited schedule to get the work done before we moved in.  They did not speak poorly of other companies or products.  I always get a better feeling from somebody when they admit that there are multiple ways to do a project and don't deride the other ways (or companies) that do it differently.  They performed the work in the quoted amount of time which was a bit longer than usual but they had squeezed us into their schedule.  The recommended application was a sealer coat with 2 layers of polyurethane (this company uses water based products like most others these days).  I was interested in having 3 layers of polyurethane (2 little kids and another on the way).  Gary told me that he didn't think it would be necessary but if I wanted it done anyways he gave me the quote.  The floors are perfect.  The professional interaction with Gary was perfect.  I would use this company again but Gary is so confident in the work they do that he doesn't think we will need to.  Even with the additional layer of polyurethane B+D was still cheaper than almost all the other companies.

Had a great experience.  Gary and his team were able to come on short notice and refinish our main floor hardwood for a very reasonable price.  The new color on the floor looks wonderful and although there is some different woods throughout the house, they did a great job of keeping the color consistent.

He was very helpful with the selections and was very willing to work with me even when I didn't pick his supplier.

For the Vinyl flooring - He picked up the product (from Menards) installed it and cleaned up nicely after words.
Carpeting - I used he supplier and it looks great - only think I had to sweep up all the fuzz's that were left from them installing it.
Response from B & D Hardwood Floors
"Thanks for your review. However, we do not install vinyl flooring. Must have been another company."

Contractor provided samples of oak flooring prior to start of work to most closely match existing floor. New oak flooring has more prominent and larger pattern than existing 80-year old flooring. After installation and sanding of floor, contractor selected a series of stains to most closely match existing floor and allowed owner to select best option. Then repeat short visits were made to coat flooring in repair area with three coats of solvent-based polyurethane.
Floor does not yet match perfectly, but is more and more unnoticeable as the solvent-based urethane coating ages.

We had been wanting too redo the wood flooring in our house for a couple of years now. There were a couple of areas with really dark stains in the floor and a couple of deep wear marks.I had made several phone calls to different companies that offered wood floor repairs. I had made appointments with theses companies for estimates. The firts estimate was for $10000.00 minimum plus additional if other issues were found after sanding. The second company came in and looked at the floor and provided an estimate of $5200.00.  My wife and I discussed the estimate and we thought that we would try Angies List. So we signed up for Angies List and I proceded to look up the 2 comapnies that we recieved estimates from and they were not on the list. Matter of fact the only company on the list was B&D Flooring, But they have not had a review in over 3 years so there was nothing in history but they were the only ones on the list. We discussed it and I had called Gary the owner and made arrangements for an estimate too be done. Gary came over and we had discussed the same issues with him as i did with the other companies.
After a couple of days i recieved an estimate and I could not believe the price so I contacted Gary and double checked everything we had dicussed. I never told Gary that I found his company on Angies List. The estimate I recieved was for $2295.00 That was to replace 22 wood boards, sanding , and staining , replacing the corner trim around the floor. This is a living room, dinning room, hall way and closet, total of 600 square feet. My wife and I discussed all 3 options and decided to go with B&D and we are glad they did.
He came in and did the work that was promised and then some. After replacing the 22 boards and sanding the floor. We found another 22 boards that needed replaced and I authorized him to do that. We are very pleased with the work that was performed and for the additional material and labor for the additional 22 boards he only charged $1000.00. I would strongly recommend Gary and his team at B&D Flooring.
