Awesome. Worked 6 sometimes 7 days a week dawn to dusk. Jim kept us informed of where he was in project and what needed done to save money and/or do it proper. So good and fair he books jobs out 9 months in advance.

After interviewing numerous contractors and getting their quotes (one as high as $10,500.00) we chose to hire Jim. The project was finished yesterday and we could not be happier. I was able to watch quite a bit of the work being done. Jim was so meticulous that you would think that he was doing the project for himself. Nice guy, professional, good communication and very skilled!

They showed up on time, and got all the work done in one day. Our yard used to be like a swamp and now it is dry. Even after a big storm at night, the yard wasn't squishy at all the next morning. They did leave ruts in the yard from their equipment but the ground was pretty wet from all the rain we received in June. I used the dirt we had them leave behind to fill in the ruts.

We are very pleased with the work done by Johnnycake Acres. They helped with the design and choice of brick and re-set our barn stone steps as requested.  Two years later, the patio is still like new, the water drains away from the house and the bricks and stone are firm and level.  The work was completed, disturbed lawn was re-seeded and the area cleaned within three days as promised. We will definitely call them for future work and comfortable recommending Johnnycake Acres.

This past summer I had my backyard cleared of underbrush and seeded in grass and in the end I had a small pond develop.  I contacted BHW Landscaping who sent out JohnnyCake Acres to do the work.  Contract was signed back in early October, but weather and scheduled delayed the beginning of the work which took two days. The guys arrived Friday afternoon Dec 19th beginning the pumping out the water from the small pond.  I helped by watching the pump into the night unplugging it about 8:30 PM when pond was empty.  Arriving early on Saturday morning, Dec 20 the guys worked all day digging, trenching, planning and drilling two holes into the 30 inch concrete drains for connecting the plastic drainage pipes.  It wasn't eay because a TV Cable ran across the work area.  The Cable Company had marked the location, but it turned out there were two lines and they had only marked one of them.  The main cable was nicked with shovel while trying to locate the wire, but Time Warner had a service man out within minutes to reconnect it.  Also, I was not certain where one of the downspouts ended and emptied.  They guys ran water down the downspout and did the necessary digging and investigations to find that it deadended underground at the edge of my neighbors yard.  It had been covered up by crews when they installed and covered a 24 inch storm drain to replace a small creek in that yard.  JohnnyCakes arrived early on Monday morning and the City Inspectors came as scheduled to inspect the holes in their storm drains and to approve the work.  It was all day Monday, but the drains and catch basin were all installed, the trenches filled, dirt hauled in and leveled to ensure proper drainage, the affected areas were seeded (including the area where the pond had been), and a cover of hay was layed over all.  I could not be more pleased - see pictures.

I couldn't believe the work and effort Johnnycake provided. Despite dodging the rain, the crew arrived early and stayed late. The result is beautiful and professional. I would not hesitate to call them again or recommend them to my best of friends and acquaintances.

I recently had the exterior of my home remodeled and called on Jim to give me an estimate on landscaping. Jim walked around the home with me and asked me what I had in mind. He came up with a wonderful layout and plants that give contrast to my new exterior. His pricing was very reasonable and he started on the day he said he would. I also had him put gravel under my deck and the gravel he put down has different colors. I could not be more pleased with the results. Would use him again and again.

We can't say enough positive things about Jim. First and foremost, we trust him. We trust the quality of his work, we trust his judgment, and most importantly, we trust his character. My wife and I felt that Jim was building our new backyard as if it was his own. He is extremely meticulous and very creative.
We highly recommend Jim and his team. Their work ethic is beyond measure.

Jim and his crew from Johnnycake Acres did a very good job with my landscapping needs. Jim provided some good ideas to enhance the job. He filled in the 3' deep by 60' long culvert by putting in an extension to the drain pipe, a catch basin and good fill dirt. He graded it so it had the required swell needed for good runoff. As for the lawn installation, he did an excellent job. He did a good landscapping grade and put down seed and straw. We also had him put down about 10 yards of mulch to make a mulch bed around the house. One particular day Jim and his partner worked in the rain most of the day. He was prompt, courteous and communicated regularily with us on all the details. He price was reasonable and he was very conscientious about the quality of his work and our specific needs. He cares about how it turns out and that you are satisfied. I would highly recommend him and would use his services again.

We originally contacted a landscaping company on Angie's List. He was upfront by telling us he had too much work but he recommended Jim Warman and Johnnycake Acres. We had Jim come out and give us a cost on grading (Jim supplied all heavy equipment), seeding 1.6 acres (new yard) and to bring in good top soil in for 5 flower beds. We chose him because he was the most affordable and my husband and quot;had a good feelingand quot; about him. My husband, parents and I chose to seed, fertilize and put straw down in the front yard and sides but frankly, we were too tired to do the back. Jim cut us a break and took that job on too.

Jim worked weekends and Memorial Day to make sure the job was done quickly and to our satisfaction. He and his crew were on time every day and worked from 8:00am until dark. They were pleasant, hard working and loved their jobs. My husband and I can't say enough good things about Johnnycake Acres...they became family. We told them to stop by anytime to check up on our grass.
