"Thank you for your feedback. We always appreciate it when we are given the opportunity to reflect on our practices and improve where necessary. Our conversation with you obviously did not satisfy you. Perhaps it was due to a lack of clarity on our part. We'd like to take this opportunity to provide a thoughtful and, hopefully, clear response. For the type of work done the estimate was within the market range for our area. Our estimates include the original building investigation notes. These notes are primarily used to create the estimate and inform our install specialists of conditions at the home. They are also used to inform the office of the time frame to schedule for the install. These time frames are shorthand for many factors that are not self-evident, such as prep time, travel, training for new technicians, etc. In addition to this is the time and travel involved in returning to the property to retrieve the post mitigation test equipment, not to mention other overhead costs. We include our original building notes because we have nothing to hide from our clients, plus it is required by the Ohio Department of Health. While time and labor do have a direct impact on price, these notes do not reflect that. They are internal indicators of what to expect for scheduling purposes. In this case they reflect the fact that we had a new technician in training that we expected to work at that property. The price was not increased to accommodate that, only the time allotted. We do not charge extra on individual jobs to train our people. We just consider that a cost of business and a product of our desire to have high performing employees. Yes, the trainee was out sick that day. The result was the technician was able to work efficiently, rather than spending time training. Not "more than usual", but as efficiently as we expect from all our great employees. Again, the price reflects the market for our area and for the scope of work at this property. As a result of our interaction, we have realized that the notes included with the estimate may cause confusion, so we have taken steps to make sure that we are as clear as possible. In our discussion, I gathered that the work was done in a quality manner and the system has effectively reduced the radon level in your home. Please let us know if this is not the case. We stand by our work with a guarantee that the radon level in your home will remain below the EPA recommended level for the life of the system. We also warranty our work for a year and the fan motor for 5 years."
