The gentleman who came out to check the AC did some checks outside on the unit and also in the basement where the furnace and AC stuff is. He explained the checks he did, and said everything was working properly. I turned on my AC and it still works. I think the main problem was the thermostat wasn’t picking up the temperature in the living room or not cooling that room properly b/c one of the vents was closed (likely as a result of vacuuming over it) and the other vent was covered by a couch. I like that he also mentioned it would be good to have a technician come out twice a year, when it starts to get hot in the Spring and when it starts to get cool in the Fall, to do a twice annual check. I asked him if I should have annual checks, and that’s what he recommended. I will probably go with that this year or next year.

The fan on our A/C unit outside stopped spinning. I called the home warranty company that was purchased as part of our home purchase. They issued me a claim number and assigned me to Wang Refrigeration. I called the company at 8:30 PM on a Thursday and was initally told that would be able to see me on Monday morning, but that if I was flexible on the time, which I was, they might be able to see me on Friday. Early on Friday, the company called me to say that they would be able to see me, but wasn't sure exactly when yet. Later in the morning, I received a call and met the representative at my home. He diagnosed the problem quickly, had the capacitor to fix the problem and was done within about 30 minutes. I can't say how competitive the pricing was, as I paid my home warranty deductible. Representative was pleasant and profession in all interactions.
