Icon Solar Power LLC
About us
There are many solar providers out there but not all of them offer the same level of service. At Icon Solar, we exceed industry standards by focusing on three core fundamentals: Full-Circle Customer Service, State-of-the-art equipment, and the peace of mind that our warranties provide. When it comes to choosing a solar company, it’s important to do your research and ensure you are working with a reputable and reliable company. We are proud to be rated A+ by the BBB with zero complaints and have a 4.8 out of 5.0 rating on Google Business. We are also a trusted solar installer hand-selected by the “Find It Duke” referral program. We have been carefully vetted and selected to participate in solar programs conducted by various cities in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. We are your go-to choice for all solar energy needs.

"We're glad you had a good experience! We hope you're enjoying your solar installation!"
"Thanks! We appreciate all the kind (and thorough) words! We hope you're enjoying your reduced energy bills!"
- A professional crew that performed well with the installation.
- They even came out and worked on a Sunday to complete installation so we could claim our valuable tax credit for 2015.
- They referred us to state plans and a local bank that helped with a loan process with very attractive interest rate financing for the project.
Overall, an excellent job. We are enjoying solar energy.
The process was explained in great detail and we received daily updates on the project status.
Icon Solar made it easy to setup our SREC annuity as well.

"We have no record that [member's name] ever scheduled an appointment with Icon Solar or spoke with anyone from Icon Solar. Icon Solar has not provided any information regarding the price of solar to [members name] [members name] may have confused Icon Solar with another solar company."
Icon Solar’s installation team was the picture of perfection. They were the most professional team of workmen I have ever had work on a project for me. In fact, I can’t think of anything they could have done better. They completed their work perfectly, and quickly, and were far more courteous than most. When they were done, they showed me that my meter was actually running backward. There are very few joys in life better than seeing that for the first time. The electricians actually did me a favor while they were here by drilling a hole that will make a future electrical project much easier much for me. Similarly the installers on the roof noticed a loose set of shingles that I kept meaning to fix. They never said anything to me but, much to my surprise, the shingles were repaired when they left, and the repair was far superior to the one I would have made. Their one B is for Responsiveness. The only reason they didn’t get an A there is because there was one problem related to the calculation of my ’25-year Benefit of Solar’. Since after an email discussion they made this perfectly right for me, the B is well deserved, and while it isn’t a perfect score, it is so nearly perfect that I highly recommend them, IF you follow this one piece of advice. Anyone planning to have a solar electric system installed by any company should work with the electric company first. I was shocked to learn that my electric coop did not have policies favorable to the installation of solar electric systems on residences. I understand they are working to improve that situation, but I still recommend that everyone ask for all the details from their electric company before contacting any solar electric installation company. This is doubly true if you are a member of an electrical coop. Sometimes they are legally unable to make solar installations more desirable due to agreements with their current electricity supplier.
I have been told by two other solar providers in Ohio that this output at the house electric box is simply not possible with 32 or 24 solar panels. No system today is that efficient. In fact ,to obtain an output of 1,108.8 KWH/ month I would need at least 36 solar panels and this might yield an output average of 1,036 KWH per month at best. In addition I told the sales person that I wanted solar panels made in the USA. They assured me that Suniva Optimus solar panels sold in Georgia are American made, but it turns out they are foreign made and put together in Georgia !!
I have decided to sign a contract with 3rd Sun Solar in Ohio. Their cost estimate for a 9.000 kW system and a yield of 1,036 KWH per month with American made products came in at a significantly lower price , $4,400 less. In addition this company has been very professional in their interactions with me to date. While the solar set up by Icon may work fine, I do not like being mislead as to telling me what I can expect in energy production from their system. In addition I was lead to believe that the salesperson had inadvertently miscalculated the cost to a lower price than it should be but he would stand by this cost estimate. Another sales gimmick. I would be very cautious in accepting what you are told by the sales people from this company at face value.
"Icon Solar has not provided any product or service to this member and this member is not in our customer data base. Based upon a review of our CRM regarding communications with this member, it appears the Icon Solar salesperson was professional, courteous, responsive and honest. A meeting scheduled with the salesperson was cancelled by the member due to a medical emergency in the member’s family. When the salesperson later attempted to reschedule, the member advised that he had purchased from another company. It is not possible for this member to accurately claim that Icon Solar did not meet expectations since Icon Solar was not given the opportunity to perform. It does appear the member may have been duped, but not by Icon Solar. The information the member provides in his review is not consistent with the written communications in our files, and some of the information is demonstrably false. For example, the Suniva OPT panels are not “foreign made” as the member claims (see Suniva.com for the facts). If the member would have contracted with Icon Solar for his solar power generation system, it is likely the member would have joined our actual customers in grading Icon Solar straight A’s across the board."
