Floyd Sandlin Hardwood Floors

We had our existing damaged kitchen flooring replaced and added new wood to our family room. Sandlins Hardwood Flooring gave us a competitive and fair price. Overall they did a good job with the demo and install. They were able to work us in quickly, which was a real plus, since our remodel project was ready for flooring. The job was a bit messier than we anticipated, especially since we weren't refinishing floors. We had prepped well with plastic coverings and blocking other rooms off, but the dust was still everywhere. The crew was prompt and responsive to our requests regarding a few issues of wood plank placement. They didn't really clean area after each day, so we cleaned up to keep dust being tracked everywhere. The crew seemed to be in a hurry to finish, and on final day forgot to complete a few things until we brought them to their attention. They completed the items when told about them. However we realized after job that they didn't grout around the fireplace. At this point, we will do the grout ourselves. Job was completed within estimated timeframe. The flooring looks great.

Everyone arrived on time and their work was meticulous. Floors look great and we receive many compliments on them. They had also refinished my mother's floors 2 years ago with the same great results.

He had to match some flooring and he did an excellent job. I would highly recommend him.

Floyd and his team did a good job. He came recommended from a coworker. After getting 2 other estimates, I found that he was very competitive in his pricing and was confident in his work. I was quoted that the work would be done in a week, however, once they started the work, the floors were a little more difficult to sand than they anticipated. Since the following Monday was Memorial Day, Floyd politely offered to finish the work on the holiday since the project was not completed within the timeline but I told him Tuesday would be fine. I was also concerned about the 2 color options that they gave me, but one of his crew members was able to show me a third option that was exactly what I wanted. They also use 3 coats of poly finish, where most companies only use 2.
My only complaint is that I do not like the toe molding that they used to finish the work, as it is a different type of wood than my floors. However, with an 85+ year old home, I don't expect perfection.

It went well and the flooring is beautiful. You can not tell where the old stopped and the new started. There were no suprises and the job was finished when they said it would be even though we added on the steps going to the second story to the job. I highly recommend this contractor.

Job went smoothly and took about 3 days to allow for 3 coats of polyurethane. Each coat was sanded w/ 180 grit paper except last coat. Floyd also cleaned up all debris. We are very pleased woith him and his workers.

I recently moved into a 35 year old home and after taking up the wall to wall carpet, found I needed / wanted to get the floors refinished in two of the bedrooms, the hallway, bathroom and closets. I also needed to have new toe molding installed as there was none - given that it had been carpeted. Floyd was able to meet my timeline (wanted to get the floors redone before my furniture arrived) and for what I considered a fair price. (I had used him about two years ago - when I had new hardwood flooring installed) This time it was just refinishing and he did a great job. The floors look wonderful and he was neat (cleaned up each day). I would use him again. The first day was the longest work day as he had to sand and really prep the floor and then put on a coat of polyurethane. The second day was really quick, and the third day took some time as he had to install the toe molding. He was prompt in arriving in the morning. This type of work is best if you don't need to live in the house when you get this work done, as the polyurethane does have an odor - which was gone within 24 hours of the final coat.
