Sales rep gave us a solid estimate, complete with energy efficiency tips. Selected AIT based on knowledge, price and product (cellulose). Revisions to original estimate were done by email before job started. Installation went smoothly -- it was an all-day process, as our house had only the original 1972 insulation and required work at top & bottom. Attic & garage received blown in cellulose; foam was sprayed above the basement foundation, between joists - even in the crawl space and a small bumpout area. The bumpout also required removal of improperly installed fiberglass batts. The team was friendly and worked around all the "stuff" stored in the basement, moving and replacing storage racks, boxes, washer & dryer, etc. Not to mention working around the emergency furnace repair we also had going on that day! They cleaned up about 95% of the remnants; I did do a quick vacuum under the attic entry, and some cleanup of foam drips here & there in the basement. The project has made a huge improvement in the comfort of our house this winter!

AIT was great- their staff is knowledgeable, responsive, and even gave tips for other ways to save on energy costs (such as sealing the gaps in the ducts). The entire process was pretty seamless.

I contacted this company per Home Advisor reviews. A sales person came out named Chris. He oversold what they could accomplish, he did not understand the results per the style of my house,. After the installation - i immediately called as there was no improvement. He told me to put a towel under the door to block out the noise, and realized they used a different product then what they had used in the past for the sound batting between my basement and master bedroom. They sent out some guys to add additional sound batting. It did not improve the noise issue. I called Chris back and his number was disconnected. I called the company and spoke with Cassandra who promised they would send out someone. After 6 weeks of calling her and not getting anyone out to my house. I requested a credit from my credit card company - which the company contested. I then found out that the reviews i read were under a different owner who sold to a minority contractor so they could do commercial work. So i feel i was mislead by the reviews. After the requested charge back i received a phone call from the previous owner requesting to come out. By this time I was over the entire thing and just wanted my money back. Never heard back from Mark (previous owner). Called him and he said i needed to contact new owner. I called and they wanted to send someone out - i am not interested in this as they are who did the poor job to begin with and they did not respond to getting it resolved for over 6 weeks. He told me write whatever review I wanted - he didn't care. So here i am. requesting my money back again with my credit card company, writing reviews and contacting the Attorney general for the state of Ohio. I am tired of getting poor customer service and paying a lot of money for something that does not work correctly.

Salesperson was excellent. Very knowledgeable and was not pushy. He also gave me suggestions for things I could do myself to improve the energy efficiency of my HVAC system. The crew arrived on time and were very efficient. They completed the work in 1 day and kept informed of what they were doing throughout the process. They cleaned up before leaving. Overall, it was a good experience and I would be happy to refer this company to my friends.

Inspection and estimate within a week of contacting. Estimate was very reasonable. Service performed the following week. Company showed up on time. Thorough cleanup afterwards. I can highly recommend.

When we purchased our home (1950's ranch) it had only minimal insulation in the attic and none in exterior walls. We called AIT and received a consultation and quote. They put insulation in exterior walls in bedrooms, but we were getting ready to begin a remodel so held off on the living/kitchen areas until remodel was complete. They were efficient and professional and completed the work exactly as contracted. I can feel a major difference in the half of the house that is insulated. Our remodel is almost complete, so we called AIT again to quote the living/kitchen areas and attic. I will submit another review when complete, but expect a quality job as before.

We built a large detached garage recently and needed it insulated. This was complicated as the garage included a Gambrell type roof with closets and and bookcases built into the roof. As the electrical work came in way over budget, I had to reject two insulation quotes, one from AIT and another, and do most of the work myself. Mark called to check on me and I explained that I was having trouble with a rear stairwell and the kneewalls upstairs. He offered to complete my work for $500 which was a deal. The young man who performed the work was industrious and did a good job. My only criticism was that both Mark and the young man who did the work asked me what I "wanted" a few times instead of telling me what was advisable professionally. But as a whole, good job.

I think from my first contact to the finished project - the timeline was MAYBE a week. The company's owner personally came out for an inspection and estimate on the project, which really made me feel like we were important as customers. The access panels they had to cut looked great - especially considering that our walls are 95-year old plaster. And in the hottest, muggiest Ohio weather? Our attic space is now very comfortable, an incredible difference. My only regret on this project is that we didn't do this sooner.

SUMMARY: Dissatisfied. Based on the low-quality of workmanship, I?m not convinced this company knows a lot about proper home insulation techniques. The owner is friendly enough, but seems like a do-it-yourselfer that decided to get into the insulation business. I would not recommend this company. The area to insulate was a 4?x30? floor extension beyond the foundation (a bump-out). When the home was built, the builder did a poor job of insulating, resulting in cold floors in the winter, warm in the summer. ATI was to correct the problem. After coming out to estimated the job, they produced a proposal, which I accepted. To insulate this area requires taking off the underside of the bump-out to expose the floor joists overhanging the foundation. For each joist area: remove the old insulation, place rigid insulation at the back (to box it off from the basement), seal the top and back with foam insulation, place fiberglass insulation between each joist, and finally put it back together. Where to begin? 1) The joist areas were not properly sealed. This is the most serious problem because cold air can easily penetrate between the joists, which makes the fiberglass insulation useless. 2) The seams between the base plate and the foundation weren?t sealed. When I pointed this out, the installer said, ?I?ll spray it if you want me to.? Two different types of building material come together (wood against concrete) and this is major source of air leaks. I should not have to point this out. 3) The installer said it?s better to ?pack the insulation in tight so it works better?. This is incorrect. Insulation should NOT be packed densely. 4) Sprayed foam around a floor vent, broke the vent due to foam expansion, so that foam was sprayed into the living room onto newly finished hardwood floors. Not good. After discussing these issues with the owner, they sent someone out to see the work (BJ). BJ agreed the job was not done correctly and said that someone from AIT would call me to schedule re-work. No one called. A week and half later, I called them and got rework scheduled. The date for rework was scheduled, but no one showed up. I called and they said the person would be out the next morning. Again, no one showed up. I called the owner, they scheduled yet another date, and this time someone showed up. The rework was done by BJ, who did a fine job of correcting the problem areas. I wish he (BJ) had done the original work.

Mark was very nice and knowledgeable, cost was reasonable. Only problem was communication. Thought I had the deal signed and they would contact me early December to schedule work. December 12 rolls around I call them and they say they are waiting for me to call. Okay, no problem, schedule for Monday December 15. I am fairly certain they tell me between 9-9:30, call them back around 10:00 and turns out they aren't coming till 12:00. Not sure if I misread the scheduling or not. Maybe I am too h****** companies for lack of communication but I have had problems with just about everyone of these businesses I contracted to do work thru Angie's List. They tell me one time, show up another or say they will call and don't Oh well, it's probably me.

Four young guys came to the house with all the materials. They did not have to go to the store to buy anything. They had all that they needed. Prepped house. Everything went well. They were done in four hours. It was nice to get it done so quickly. All four guys were nice, competent, and on the ball. I was very happy

The owner of the company visited to estimate the job on 2/25/2015. After going to the places where cold air was getting into the house (he showed me as we went ), he reviewed what is necessary in our area of Ohio item by item. The three areas in our home which required insulation were the attic, the ceiling on the first floor, and the crawlspace (no basement). He showed me the materials needed and why they were effective. We agreed on a price for the job, and he sent a crew the next day to do the work, since things are a bit slower in this cold snap. Three men showed up. The leader went over the work order as I showed him where to access the spaces. The work order was a copy of the agreement I signed the day before, and they went to work. They blew cellulose into the attic after prepping leaks. They blew cellulose into the space over the first floor after prepping the leaks. In the crawlspace, no blow in was used. A combination of injected foam and hand cut Insulation was inserted in the nooks and crannies. It took, by my estimate, about five hours of solid work to complete the job. I inspected the work, paid the piper, and we were done. We have already noticed benefits, as there are much shorter periods when the heat pump is on, especially during the day .

Good. Guy that did the estimate was very thorough and explained everything. Gave me some helpful tips to increase energy efficiency in the home. Crew that did the work was friendly and cleaned up pretty good when they were done

They arrived as scheduled and were very careful to protect the floors and window sills where they placed the hose from their truck. They did a first class job and actually added more depth of insulation than I contracted for. Their clean up was excellent in all areas! The crew did a first class job. The problem is that the office follow up is horrible! On three occassions Theresa promised to mail me a copy of the paperwork they sent to Duke Energy. I never received anything from Theresa. As recently as yesterday, Duke stated that they were still waiting for anothert piece of information from Theresa before they could process my rebate of $200-$250. It's a shame that the office follow up is so bad, because the work done by Mark Schirmer and his crew was outstanding. Don't bother sending Mark an e-mail because Theresa intercepts the e-mails and, you guessed it, nothing happens. Excellent contractor who needs comparable office support.

They were on time for initial presentation and estimate of work. The work crew was on time. They explained what they were doing and had us inspect their work. Their clean up work was very thorough.

Mark came out and did the inspection. I have a large home so it took quite a bit of time. He was very thorough in explaining where energy was escaping and money could be saved. Because this was a large job he priced out several different options. The crew arrived and performed the work in a couple of days. Crew was excellent and very professional. Company does a great job.

Overall this company was good to work with. The problem is they could not meet my schedule.

The job went quickly and efficiently. I recommend them highly.

Our electricity bill has been so much better since the work was done. Mark didn't just do the side of the garage but above the garage. He even took a thermometer into the rooms where we had issues to show us how the temperature now matched that of the rest of the house. Mark knows his business and what he is doing. He was personable, understood what we needed and did a thorough job. He called us as a follow up afterward.

Original quote was supposed to be done on Friday, that was cancelled and rescheduled by salesman. Estimate was done that following Monday. Was told by salesman I would have quote Tuesday. Tuesday came around and I then was told I would have quote by Wed. Wed rolled around and I then was told I would have quote by Thursday!. I finally received quote Thursday Afternoon. The quote was actually a good price so Friday I called the office to set up the work. Lets see, 1,2,3,4,5 calls later and 2 voicemails I still haven't received a call back. I honestly have NO idea how this company has an A rating on Angies List! Price was great, communication and follow up were HORRIBLE!! Customers should never have to beg a company for there business!! There are a thousand other insulation companies out there, ill go with one of them.

They did a great job. They did an excellent job but the insulation doesn't work almost at all. When people turn on the air conditioning systems, what ever noise its making, it just doesn't work. But that's the chance I took! I don't blame them at all. The guy came here on time, he did an excellent job. I thought it would really reduce the noise but it hasn't. Again, I'm not blaming them at all. If I had known it wouldn't have any effect I probably wouldn't have had it done but you never know! It probably does well for keeping in heat and air but I thought it would reduce sound and it doesn't really reduce sound. It wasn't sound proofing insulation because I looked it up and that would cost thousands of dollars. So it was the best I could have done but the company was excellent. They came; they did what they were going to do; they cleaned up afterwards; they gave me the price they had on the estimate. So I was really happy with them. I thought the price was excellent. I had some other quotes that were way higher than them. He was upfront and he was so much more reasonable.

Mark spent several hours inspecting our house at no charge prior to any work being done, and uncovered numerous problem areas that the other companies simply missed during their inspections. The work was completed in a timely and professional manner, and Mark's crew even replaced a piece of faulty flexible duct work at no charge that they discovered was full of water. My father also used AIT at his home and had the same positive experience.

They went through the whole house. As a result of this audit we had insulation put in in the crawl space and other areas. They did exactly what I wanted them to do.

A.I.T. Advanced Insulation & Energy Technologies are the worst company I've ever dealt with. They're terrible. I had an extremely bad experience with them. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody. They were working on a rental property I own and I'd make an appointment to meet them but they wouldn't show up. They show up two or three hours late. I had another company redo the work.

Everything went great. Made quite a mess but when it was all finished, they cleaned up everything. Before they started, they put drop cloths down where ever they were working and then covered furniture with plastic for any dust created. When they were finished, they put the first bit of mud in the walls where they cut holes to inject the foam. They vacuumed everything and they even helped move the big pieces of furniture back for me. Great job. Thanks a lot.
