WEST CHESTER LAWN & GARDEN
About us
John W. Magie Enterprises Inc. started in business in 1982 as a Lawn Care Company. In 1985 we purchased another Lawn Care Company out of Harrison, Ohio that had been in business for 32 years. This was a necessary purchase to grow our business and expand our demographics as the area continued to grow and review our options for future possibilities. It was decided to become a Lawn & Garden Dealership in 1988. We partnered with John Deere, Toro, and other engine manufactures. By 1990, (80%) of our business was retail, parts, and service of lawn and garden equipment. We had continued growth over the next 10 years. In 2000 we had a major road split our property in half. The new highway (Butler Regional Highway or Rt. 129) allowed us additional traffic and retail opportunities. In the Spring of 2003 we started building a new state of the art facility for our industry which was approximately 100 yards from our original farm type setting. On October 10, 2003 we opened our new facility. Our new facility was built around increasing our efficiency to service our customers better. We continue to expand our service opportunity by providing at Home Service for our customers and selling Preferred Customer Maintenance Plans. We have partnered with other retail outlets to be a Service Partner to continue our growth and expertise by being a parts and service solution for our customers.

He and his staff performed great work and got everything looking so much better.
There was a few weeks delay in the scheduling, but they were worth the wait.
The mower was ready earlier than they had estimated, which was nice. However, when I went in to pick it up, they could not find it. After searching for quite a while (and involving other employees) they did find it.
While I was waiting for the mower, I was looking around the store and intended to buy grass seed. However, I noticed that the "use by " date on the seed had already passed. I asked someone in the store about it and they said it was not important, but I dd not purchase the seed.
I took the mower in for service over the winter so I could benefit from a discount coupon and to have the mower available during the growing season. When I started using the mower this spring, it ran poorer than when I brought it in for servicing. It keeps stalling and appears under-powered. If I were to return it as a complaint, I would lose the use of the mower during the spring growing season. Consequently, I will have to do the servicing myself.
After two years of a similar experience, I will not return to have my mower serviced there again. After last year's disappointing service, I went back, giving them the benefit of doubt, since I had many prior years of satisfactory service.
From now, either I will do the servicing myself or take it to another service provider. I use providers due to lack of time to do it myself.

Once I serviced the mower, I discovered that the spark plug gap was set at 0.03 inches, instead of the required 0.02 inches. This would explain the lawn mower's lack of power.
