I have worked with Jay for over a year now. Despite the fact he was very busy this year, he always responds to my texts. He opened and closed my pool extremely efficiently. I would highly recommend Jay and HD pools

I'll start with the positive - our rep, Jay, was professional and knowledgable. That being said, there are a few things that I wish I had realized when we entered into our contract. 1) The price we paid to Pools HD was for JUST the pool, pumps/heater element, 2 filters and installation into the ground. We did add lights and stamped concrete into the contract but nothing else that is required to operate a pool were included. No water (additional $575), no plumbing (an additional $2200), no hauling away of trash and dirt (an additional $500) and no electricity (an additional $1700). 2) We had to act as our own general contractor to hire the plumber and electrician which was not easy being new to the area (thanks Angie's List for helping us find reputable names!) 3) The lag time between getting the pool installed and the concrete poured was several weeks which limited our ability to use the pool. 4) When the concrete was poured, they did not cover the pool water and we ended up with concrete dust and dye - which stained the sides of the pool and clogged one of the 2 free filters that we received. We were told that we could hose off the filter and that we should be able to clean the dirt line (similar to the dirt line one would get in a bath tub) but who wants to take ownership of a NEW pool that already has to be cleaned due to negligence?

Jay installed a custom fit mesh cover for our pool.  He provided a number of color options, picked the one that we ultimately went with and installed the cover expertly to our concrete poolscape.  The cover is beautiful and it receives many positive comments from the neighbors too.

Excellent, weather set us back 1-2 days, but services rendered met and exceeded expectations!

Jay Lakes, owner of Pools HD, met with my wife and I several times for design ideas for a backyard pool.  Jay suggested layouts and pool types for us that would accent the unique features of our yard.     Jay's work was on-time and on budget and we have had ZERO issues since the install.
