James did a fantastic job on my crumbled concrete driveway. He made it a little wider and it looks great. The deal went very smoothly he did everything he said he would do. I would recommend him for sure. Very polite honest hard working man. Thank you for making my driveway beautiful & safe.

It was great. It looks so nice. He reseeded where his equipment killed the grass. It was like he had never been there.

If I could give 10 stars I would. James and his crew removed our old asphalt driveway to create a new, expanded concrete driveway that completely blew away our expectations. From the finishing of the concrete, to the clean up/reseeding process, and to the always open line of communication, James went above and beyond. The entire crew were wonderful to work with and would highly recommend to anyone in need of concrete work!

When the square footage of your circular driveway rivals that of your 4 bedroom house you get multiple quotes. James at Powerhouse Construction was great to work with and the finished project was excellent. He walked through all the items he was going to complete such as saw cut control joints, drilled rebar for joining to the garage, and why he uses those methods. I received 5 quotes and he was the only one to include the finishing work of bringing in topsoil and seeding after the concrete work was completed. Since having the driveway replaced, I have gotten multiple comments form neighbors and even people driving by regarding how good it looks. James and his team persevered through several unforeseen obstacles such as parts of the originally driveway being 12” thick, some areas having zero gravel underneath, some areas having round river stone (not great for compacting), and a record 4” of rain one evening that turned the job site into a giant mud pit complicating work for almost a week. James brought in ~100 tons of crushed stone which they compacted multiple times to ensure a solid foundation for the concrete. He even filled the large hole I dug for the basketball hoop with concrete as they were pouring that section of driveway (I dug the hole, set, and braced the post, but avoiding the mixing 12+ bags of concrete by hand was a nice bonus) The job did take longer than planned and there were a few equipment issues, and as mentioned weather issues, but the final product was great. No contractor can control the weather and I think leading up to the pour days I was looking at the weather app on my phone hourly. He had to push a planned pour date (Friday) due to incoming storms but was able to complete on Monday. They are not the biggest and they don’t have a fleet of branded vehicles, but they all worked hard and delivered a quality driveway for me and my family that we will use for decades to come.

Bottom Line Up Front: if you need a contractor to pour concrete for patio, garage, etc. look no further. Jim and his crew at Powerhouse were absolutely amazing. I say this as I was (embarrassingly so) that nightmare customer who could not make up his mind and thankfully Jim was right there to calmly lead me thru various solutions for my patio. I needed a patio extension so that can build a gazebo on it next month and he designed options that met all the future project's requirements without breaking the bank. He really knows his business. Jim is not only patient, but trustworthy too. He talked me out of a very expensive approach that I had asked for my patio by explaining that for what I was going to use it for, a less costly option would actually serve me better in the long run. Oh and remember I said I couldn't make up my mind. Well...halfway through the initial phase of the project I changed the dimensions and lay out of the patio twice. Instead of getting frustrated with me (the crazy customer), he said and I quote "no problem my friend, we will make it happen...that is what a good contractor does." In addition, his crew was very professional and respectful, and when they were finished with the job they left the job site pristine. I was very impressed in how Jim mentored these young men. To wrap this up, I was very impressed with the end product as it was very well done and looked incredible. At the end of the day, in spite of my indecision and two crazy change orders midstream, the project was completed on time and on budget. I would recommend Jim and his crew at Powerhouse anytime.

James and his crew work their butts off. Everything was completed as promised. The job took a few extra days because of weather issues, but you can't control the weather. They cleaned the area, put down topsoil and seeded the areas that needed it. I would not hesitate to use them again.

It was good. The workers were nice and conscientious.
