Bait and switch. I asked specifically in the interview, what the rate was, what the discount points were and what the origination fee was. I was told the rate, and the origination fee would be 1%. I was told there would be no buy down points. We went ahead with the application only to find out that there were 2% points to buy down and closing costs would be around 10K. I would never have had them run a credit inquiry if they had been upfront about the points.
