Mossing provided timely and competent service in general.
They have a quasi-monopoly of pool service in the area. Mossing's rates for labour are steep ($60/hour) and involve two guys (i.e. $120/hour) who work together on any specific job. It always seems like you're paying a lot to get something relatively simple done. Never a "downside" surprise in the cost of a job.
Mossing persistently left the gate open to our pool (we have small children) and left pool equipment by the side of our pool each spring and fall when opening and closing the pool. This is despite the fact that there is a pool house right next to the pool with ample space for storing the equipment. Given the profitability of the work performed and high hourly rates, we would have expected a higher attention to detail.
Having complained about this sloppy practice more than once to Dave Mossing, after 4 years we recently dared to retain $50 in charges from a bill for closing the pool. We explained why on the invoice. Dave decided not to do business with us again.
It is the perogative of any business to choose who to do business with. Mostly however you find that high-margin repeat business services like cable, pest control, alarm service go out of their way to resolve complaints and retain customers. That is not Mossing's approach. Complain once, be ignored. Complain twice, be ditched as a customer.
High prices, poor service, poor business practice. It must be a monopoly in Toledo, or Mossing would be out of business.

My wife and I did a lot of investigating of pool companies. Most contract out one or more of the trades required to build the pool (cement, electrician, gas line, etc). We were leery because if we had a problem, we wanted to go to one person, not track down some of the sub-contractors. Mossing has everyone working for them. Also, after we did our research and decided to go with Mossing, we talked to two friends and a neighbor who have Mossing Pools. It appears that Mossing is the "Cadillac" of pools. Everyone is happy with their pools and the experience they had with Mossing. Dave Mossing was great to work with. He is a no-pressure, easy-going person. He and his team are very professional. I cannot say enough good things about this company. If you are considering a pool in the Toledo area, do yourself a favor, contact Mossing and compare to the other contractors around. Ask around and I think you will find the same as I have described above.
