Sweethaven Garage & Door

Called on Thursday, scheduled for Monday with a 3 hour time window and a call to be made before the technician arrives.  Call came in on time and technician arrived 10 minutes or less after the call.  Technician reviewed what was wrong, provided a description of the work to be done, provided an estimate, and provided an estimate of how long it would take.  Everything he stated was accurate and he (Carl) was very professional. 

The serviceman was courteous and knowledgeable about the equipment he was replacing and installing.  He gave me clear options and all the facts I needed to choose a course of action that met our needs.  Though everything was functioning properly when the installation was completed, a glitch in operation occurred within the first few hours afterward.  I called the office and, though it was late in the afternoon, they very quickly arranged a follow-up visit by the technician the very next day.  He diagnosed the problem (apparently a broken wire) and repaired the opener system so that everything has operated flawlessly since then.  I am very happy with the new opener and have seriously considered replacing the remaining older opener as well.

Very well - new door, all hardware and rails.  Re-installed existing opener.  On-time, clean and professional.  Took 2 to 2.5 hrs total.

The owner didn't try to sell me any upgraded styles although they were available. The secretary at the Sweethaven office told me you could go online to Clopay and see the doors on your own house if you take a photo of your house so I did this.  I looked through the Clopay garage door book and decided to call him and switched to doors with windows. They were perfect and add to the look of our house!

A woman came out and fixed the door. The next day, it was broken. I called them back and the woman said it was fine when she left. She wasn't willing to come back. I thought they didn't have good customer service. Her husband came back later on and did what was needed to be done. Overall, it was a good experience. It was a good price and they did a good job.

The 2010 service seemed OK...we were told that we should buy a screw-drive opener due to our heavy wood garage doors, which we did. When the other door opener recently failed, we were told by this same provider that they would not install another screw-drive because they were experiencing problems with them! We (unfortunately) hired them again, this time to install a belt-drive opener.  The next day, the new opener would not close the garage door. The provider came back at a time we were not home, and some type of adjustment was made.  Then a highly unlikely thing occurred--the very next time we opened the left door (the 2010 opener), it failed to close. I called the provider, and they sent a man who said he had worked on the right door. When I indicated that maybe there had been a mixup as to which door they adjusted on their second visit, he kept repeating that "you have no proof" that this was their fault. His attitude was arrogant, flippant, and he was not open to compromise. He didn't seem to care that they had apparently sold us a product in 2010 that they now view as unacceptable, and that this product just happened to have failed during the time that his company worked on the adjacent door.  I'm sure the letter of the law supports his viewpoint, but he certainly cares nothing about customer satisfaction or attempting to build trust with clients! We will be finding another company to fix the current problem...and unfortunately we are now stuck with two garage door openers from a firm that we do not have any faith in.

Technician came and tuned up our garage doors.  We have a double and a single garage door.  The single door was jerking.  I tried lubricating the door but it did not help.  Technician adjusted and lubricated both doors for $95.  They sound quieter and operate much smoother.

The service was bad. The attitude was bad. The service they did was incompetent. I had to call another garage door company to get the problem resolved, and they said that Sweethaven did not install it properly. They also overcharged me by $100 from the original quote.

I asked them if I could buy a contract, just in case anything happened with the garage door and they said no.

Went just fine.  New garage door opener was installed and has worked perfectly.

Spring broke on existing old door. Decided to get new door and opener. Original door was over 30 years old, opener also.
Sweethaven responded to call promptly the next day and repaired the spring - temporary fix. New door came in a few weeks later and they installed it with the new opener at a convenint time for us. New door looks and works great. Sound of door opening/closing is lmost silent. Big improvement over old door. I also recommended Sweethaven to a fellow coworker who was very satisfied with them.

He was terrific.  Arrived exactly on time, did a thorough job in a very reasonable amount of time.  Made sure I knew how to use the new remotes and keypad and explained exactly what he did.  Suggested the sealing strip on the bottom of door had hardened and was chipping - asked if I wanted to have it replaced, which I did.

Did a great job.  Very clean afterwards.  Job when faster than anticipated.  Reset the keypad to our password. 

I called on a Wednesday afternoon and they scheduled the service call for the next day. The installer showed up on time, completed the opener installation and door maintenance at the quoted cost. The installer then very clearly explained how to use and maintain the door opener.

It went very well. Everything was explained before the service call. Finished price was exactly the price quoted.

The price was fair. They were efficient. The door has been a little touchy, but I don't think it's their fault. Sometimes it goes down a foot and then stops, then goes back up. We haven't called them because we are able to get it back down again. I would definitely use them again.

They took out the old door replaced it with a new door and put a new garage door opener. The person came out on time and I told him what I wanted and he heard it. He could have made more money with garage door with windows, but explained why it was a bad idea and actually sold me their cheaper door. He was extremely honest. One person, among the workmen did the entire job all by himself, which was easy. That person was extremely professional and he is also one of the hardest working guys I have ever seen.

Chris showed up on time, and was very friendly and professional. After looking at the door, he confirmed nothing was damaged, and proceeded to wind cable back up, etc. He tested it multiple times and even lubricated the track. He was done in about an hour, and charged me $30 less then initial over-the-phone estimate! I couldn't believe the difference-another company(non-Angie's List)had come out and quoted me at four times this price, and was even suggesting I could go with a door replacement at over $1000. I loved the direct and no-nonsense service Chris provided, without trying to sell more than was needed.

Very well. Responded to my message next day and scheduled work following day. Discussed pro's and con's of various options and convinced me to replace the unit due to the reliability of the new unit and their excellent warranty.

Excellent. The repairman arrived when he said he would. Evaluated the reason the door wouldn't open and found a spring had broken and needed to be replaced. He completed his work in a timely and neat manner. The service man was friendly, knowledgeable, and fast.

I called at 9am in the morning, and they advised they will be at my home between 1 and 3 pm the same day. The service Tech showed up at 1:15 and was finished by 2. He was very professional, helpful and courteous. I would definitely use again. He also advised how to do preventive maintenance on the door and spring for the future.

THE INSTALLER, CARL, CAME ON TIME, EXPLAINED EVERYTHING HE WAS GOING TO DO & WHY. ONCE INSTALLED, HE SHOWED ME HOW EVERYTHING WORKED & EVEN PROGRAMMED THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER FUNCTION IN MY CAR CONSOLE FOR ME! FROM THE BEGINNING, A VERY POLITE, PROFESSIONAL COMPANY. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO USE THEM AGAIN AND WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE.
