Absolute disaster!
I had a bad gut feeling when I handed over my deposit for a new roof and the owner Chris said, "I'm taking this money and I'm going to Las Vegas."
I was promised that work would be completed by the end of November and had it put in the contract. End of November came and went and no roof, no calls, no nothing. When Chris finally returned my call on Dec. 2, he said other projects ran long, and the weather was bad, and the standard excuses.
Things looked a bit more promising when a crew, not Sullivan Construction, but a different company (obviously sub-contracted) showed up on Dec. 3 to start the job.
Work seemed to progress that first day, but the next day was a different story, as only about half the crew showed up and they were done working by 11 a.m.The next day it rained, and so did the day after, but surprisingly a partial crew showed up to work, this time until only early afternoon.
I was not sure why they decided to work on a rainy day. More problems ensued - since it was raining, my entire front lawn was ripped up by foot traffic - looks like a football field after a game.
I called the owner Chris, who was still in Las Vegas, and proceeded to get the most rude and unprofessional attitude I've heard in some time. "I'm in Vegas, what do you want me to do about it? You know, the crew has to walk through your yard?"
Ridiculous!
Loose nails in my driveway, ripped up lawn with truck tires, destroyed landscaping, plants, lawn, and the response I got from Chris the owner was a bad attitude, aggressivness, and terrible customer service.
My roof is not even half done. I have tons of garbage sitting in my front yard, all of my landscaping is destroyed. A full trailer with trash has been in my yard for 5 days now, and the owner of the company is in Vegas gambling - not taking care of his customer.
Avoid this company by all means - everything is sub-contracted, no clue about customer service, very rude and unresponsive, everything goes downhill after you sign on the line and make a deposit.
Hire any other company, but not Sullivan Construction in Mentor, Ohio.
