Needed a new refrigerator to replace the old refrigerators (purchased 11 years ago) that previously sat up under a cabinet in my kitchen. The problem was the "new" standard size refrigerator's are on average between 6" - 8" taller than the last time I went refrigerator shopping. Called Precision Woodworks to inquire about the possibility of resizing the cabinet above the refrigerator to accommodate a newer model refrigerator. The owner was very responsive and friendly, came out, gave me an estimate, performed the job exactly as he had described, and for the price he had quoted. The cabinet looks absolutely amazing and you can't tell that it was ever removed from the rest of the kitchen cabinetry. It looks just as it did before it was removed, just shorter. I would definitely hire again for all of my woodworking needs. Excellent work and service!!
"Thank you for your input as this is what makes Angies list so great. As a parent myself I would also never put a dollar value on my time when doing something for my children. Unfortunately in business we have to charge for our labor which tends to be the bigger part of most projects. As a professional contractor, I also use proffessional grade products that are typically a little higher priced than the big box stores, but justified in quality. On your project, I quoted making actual cabinets on each side of your fire place, properly extending the electrical boxes into the cabinets, priming and painting the cabinets with a high quality conversion varnish, cutting your carpet and existing baseboards, installing the cabinets, installing a new baseboard trim around the bottom of the cabinets, installing a bumper to prevent the door from damaging the left cabinet and installing a nice trim to blend the cabinets into the mantle. I worked up a nice design in our computer, but wasn't given the opportunity to show off what I designed. I also presented a less expensive option for 2241.17. I do apologize that we did not have the opportunity to work together and hope we can do so for your future endeavors."
And I was so happy I did. I called them and described the job and the person there said "well, can we do it first thing tomorrow?". I said absolutely! One person came the next day to do the job(ON TIME!) and boy was he a professional. Came in focused on the job, did not get interrupted and when he was finished he cleaned up. He really cared about his work and it wasn't a rush rush get it done situation.
To me, getting a professional job done in this day and age is a rarity! These guys are great and I would call them back again for sure.
"Dear [Member Name Removed], Thank you for your review as they are what makes Angie's list such a wonderful resource. I did come out to evaluate your scope of work needed, and concluded that your front door, trim around your front door and the weather seals were in very bad condition. You agreed with me. I advised you it would be best to replace the main door as well as installing a new storm door as you asked for. The main door is the foundation on which the storm door is secured to. I gave you several options to choose from that were available to us. You insisted on matching what you had which is not available anymore. You decided that at this time you only wanted a storm door. I found a reasonably priced storm door that is made for mobile homes, included the necessary things required for that storm door. This included a pneumatic closer to prevent slamming and a spring and chain that prevents the wind from tearing off your door as it did to your old storm door. I also included a locking handle set ( or latch as it's titled in the door lititure ) as you requested. In order to install the storm door properly, the existing trim and main door has to be reworked. At this point it makes more sense to replace the main door as the cost is comparative. A new main door would ultimately serve you better in security and save money in heating and cooling cost. Regardless, the materials and labor needed to complete your job in a professional manner exceeded your budget. We are proud to put our name on every project and cannot afford to jury rig things, as some handy men do, to accommodate a much lower cost. I am truly sorry for the bad experience you had with the handyman who attempted to do this job prior to my visit with you. I wish you all the best and honestly hope you can find someone to complete your job in a proffessional manner at a cost that fits your budget. God bless."
