The most horrific experience I have ever had with a move. I have moved about 30 plus times in my life. I have used various companies, used U-Haul type companies, Self pack like ABF and this is the most unorganized group of people I have ever had the unfortunate experience to deal with.
Let's begin with setting up the estimate date. The gal who began the process, lets call her Abigail, tells me that it's no problem getting me out the day I want, but it would be a 10 day window for deliver from loading, but the crew would be able to get me out the Friday morning 8/9/13, without a problem. I thought no problem, this conversation was on the previous Friday, and she set up the estimate for the following Wednesday evening. This was 2 days before I needed to be out, but I thought no problem. On Monday I received a call that the date had to be changed to Thursday due to a conflict, with a time of 1pm and it would be the owner. On Thursday I received a call at 10pm from the owner who asks, "Can we change the 11:30 appointment for today to 10:30? I got done sooner than I thought." Well ok, it was a good thing I was home. So he came out, let's call him Bob. He is the owner of the company. He was pleasant for the most part and confused on why I had been given a 1pm appt which was not what he was given. I specifically asked him what size truck they would be bringing since I lived in a complex with driveways very close and I didn't want to inconvenience my neighbors. He said it would be a small truck, since my items would be removed and stored for the cross country truck.
Later that day the person who assigns the crew for pick up called, lets call him Ron, to set up the time and said he had to change the time of pickup/loading to the afternoon. This was after I had arranged for my dog to be at a friends and arranged my day of final errands. Oh well, his excuse or reason was that he couldn't confirm a time of day until after the estimate, which had been changed at no fault of my own. So I rearranged my day and had to keep the dog with me for the day.
The truck showed up and it was a full size semi 18 wheel truck. Not the small one that the owner had stated. OPPs. I had to make sure my neighbors were not blocked in since this would take a while. The driver was new, pleasant as were the 2 assistants. It was his first long distance pick up/load so he was very slow at labeling. Now with the labeling, will call him Chance, he openly admitted that a good number of these stickers with numbers came off the boxes, furniture etc. He said that sometimes that happens that they don't stick. I have never had that happen before. At the end all the paperwork had to be signed. The invoice said the items would be delivered COD.
un NO, I PAID THIS ON MY CREDIT CARD IN FULL. He called Ron and was told by Ron that I shouldn't worry about it, that was how all shipments were billed. Un NO, I changed the paperwork. I told him I was not going to be sitting in another state with a driver I had never seen before and he say, 'well the invoice says COD'.
Now the only person in the entire company who is worth working with is the gal who took the payment. She has and continues to be pleasant. Her name is Stephanie.
My household items were loaded by this company on August 9 finishing at 4:30pm. It is now September 10 and I still do not have my stuff. I made calls to this company every other day just to find out when my stuff would be loaded. Ron would ignore my calls and actually one time I did talk to him he referred me back to Stephanie because he knew I was upset. Now Stephanie kept me informed as to the fact she sent numerous emails and calls to the corporate office in Indiana to find out the status of a driver being assigned. She did send me emails and left me voice mails to update me even when there was no new information. I was told to start calling the customer service for the corporate office 2 weeks ago. Dealing with them will be another review.
