Kelley's Cleaning Services

Kelley Cleanning was cleaning my mothers house bi weekly for 6 months - 1 year. She is 87 and almost blind. Due to illness, I called the owner and discussed some issues. We agreed to get her back on the schedule and to start this week. The morning they were to clean, I called (pro actively) to let them know where the key was. The owner mumbled something about not cleaning. I asked today or indefinitely. He said never with no explanation when I asked why. He them said “I am meeting with staff” and then “good luck - goodbye.” I sent a letter for an explanation and to let Kelley know we had an overpayment. The only response is that they would return the overpayment... For months - we wondered if the house was ever being cleaned or my mother just told us that. I never noticed it looked clean. We started asking neighbors and friends that stop by regularly. No one ever noted the house looking like it was cleaned. I never saw the hard surface floors cleaned. I wanted to get someone else, but my mother liked MR Kelley so I called to be sure she was on the schedule moving forward. The situation seemed odd that on Tuesday MR Kelley how much he liked my mother and was happy to call her before their arrival... I thought we were all good and then on Friday to be told they are no longer cleaning was really rude and unprofessional.

Bob came to my home and we did a walk through. I pointed out everything that I needed to have done. Walls, floor to ceiling, ALL woodwork (Window sills, baseboards, doors, etc), I specified how I needed the kitchen cupboards scrubbed inside and out, ceramic tiles, floor and walls. I wanted closets in all rooms cleaned inside and out, including doors.  He acted like he was taking notes and shaking his head he would do that.  I agreed that there was no certainty that my carpet would come completely clean due to some stains, but he said he would scrub and steam clean as best as possible.

I left, not wanting to be in his way and was told he would call me when he was close to being done. He started at 10:00am and called me at 1:30pm.(3 1/2 hours???) I found that to be quite quick, but retuned home. I made the mistake of not checking the entire house closely. I paid him and as he pulled out of the driveway I noticed the cupboard doors in the kitchen weren't even touched! Grime was still around the handles and drawer knobs. I could scrape the dirt off them with my fingernail.. The insides weren't even wiped out! Crumbs and paperclips were. My carpeting was saturated. Walls were washed half way and baseboards and closets were dusty and spiderwebs..

I called and told Bob I was going to stop payment on my check. He started screaming at me and said he'd take me to court and he would win.  Little did he know, I took dated before and after pictures.

We found Kelley Cleaning services on Angie's List after determining the house was getting out of hand. We have two of us working and kids in school. They were polite on the phone and able to schedule an estimate for the next day. They explained exactly what they'd do (kitchen top-to-bottom, chrome on appliances, baseboards, walls, etc.). They were able to do the job on Wednesday, and we're both very pleased with the work. This is really going to make a difference in our lives!

The young ladies were courteous and friendly. I have hired the Merry Maids and feel they did a much better job. The are worth the extra money when cleaning for a special occasion.

The girls were very helpful. They kept asking while they were there, if there was anything else that I needed. They wiped down my floor which I wasn't expecting but I thought it was very nice. They wiped the refrigerator as well as the appliances since they were cleaning the kitchen walls. They kept asking if I needed anything else to be done just to make sure that I was happy. They were willing to do it within the time they had there. They were just very pleasant and very nice. They just wanted to be sure that I was happy. I would consider using their services again in the future.

The owner came out initially to see what I wanted done. The price is very reasonable. The owner has come out with the girls the past few times they have come. They are always very prompt and flexible with scheduling. We are working on two bedrooms, so it is hard for them to clean those. They will not increase the price once those bedrooms are done, which is nice. I will continue to use them in the future and would recommend them to others.
