Horrific!! We hired this contractor from a list provided by Service Magic. (They claimed to have checked his license, insurance and no contractor was able to be listed on their site if they had any past or present civil lawsuits pertaining to their work). He first was hired to refinish our basement. We gave a $5,500 deposit and a $4,000 draw 4 days later. Half-way through he claimed we had severe issues with water and we must waterproof 2 walls of the exterior of the house. We felt we had no choice and paid a $3,000 deposit and $2,000 draw. Again, half way through he stated that the 3rd wall needed to be done as well, another $1,500 deposit. This scenario continued with the sun-porch and somehow he had us convinced he was helping us. A total con man! When we said no more until outstanding projects were finished, he DISAPPEARED!! We have an unfinished basement and sun-porch, more water than we ever had and faulty electric. The city is after him and we are suing him and Service Magic!
