The machine was in a cabinet, and they explained to me how to remove it from the cabinet to bring it in to the store. (I had no idea it came out of the cabinet)! They inspected the machine at no cost. I'm not very good at sewing, and don't sew that often, so I was not sure if I should put the money into a repair, just buy a new machine, or give up Halloween costume making for my kids. They recommended that it was a good machine and should be fine after the repair and a good cleaning. The $117.00 was pretty fair; a bit more than I would have liked, but a new machine would have cost more. The entire process took about a week. I had also inquired at Jo-Ann Fabrics about the repair; they would have had to send it out and there was a diagnostic fee before the actual repair cost. Alko took care of everything on site.
