Dave & Andy from The Place came on time to my home. they were very professional and very knowledgeable. They did a excellent job in replacing my glass doors on my fireplace. The crew was fantastic. The finished product is fantastic as well. I'm handy, and looked at their progress each night when I came home. I'm somewhat of a perfectionist and I had NO problems with anything they did. If I say they did it the way I would have, I mean to say they were picky, picky, picky about doing it just right!!! They were fantastic. Communication during the project was first rate. They have my unqualified recommendation. The Place IS the place!.

Technician cleaned the heck out of both of them. He cleaned them so well they looked and performed like brand new. It was a little pricey for what he called a yearly servicing but was well worth every penny. Despite the cost I will definitely use them again.

Spoke with an extremely helpful representative who specializes in hot tubs.  He explained there are several ways to troubleshoot a slow leak, without having to dispatch a technician.  He walked me through the process over the phone, which helped me to explore several options to detect the source of the leak.  After eliminating the possibility of a seal leak in the pumps (which can be taken out and brought in for service at their location, if needed), he explained that we may be dealing with a leak from the filter or drain connections, OR the possibility of a critter having chewed into a line somewhere creating a slow leak to use as a water source.  Upon removing the panels, it's clear to see mice or chipmunks had created a dwelling and so I began the process of removing foam and working on all sides of the hot tub until a source of the leak was identified.  I was unable to identify the leak myself, so I plan to call in a service technician to assist in the process.  
I will provide another review when the service provider helps to fix the problem, but for now I was especially pleased with this company's willingness to assist free of charge to help eliminate specific problems (pump leaks) and take me through the troubleshooting tips over the phone.  Great service, despite being zero cost to me; which has given me incentive to use this service provider first before any others!

It went great. We contacted Tim at the store, and scheduled a service date and time. Tim took it upon himself to contact us the following day, to let us know that he could send a technician to our house even sooner, which we thought was pretty awesome. On the rescheduled day, our technician Mike called and let us know when he was 10 or 15 minutes away and he arrived when he said he would. Mike was courteous, friendly and very professional. He completed the job in short order and cleaned up afterward. (We have beige carpeting near the fireplace and you couldn't even tell he had been there-which made my bride very happy.) He answered all of our questions and made some good suggestions regarding the care and maintenance of our unit. Mike treated our home like it was his home, which earned him a rock star rating from us! We would definitely recommend The Place, if you ever need a Heat -n-Glow unit serviced. For lack of a better phrase, they're the bomb!

    Mike was 5 minutes early for the servive call.He also gave me an estimated time  to complete the inspection.
 He thoroughly cleaned the logs. He also cleaned hearth and provided a barrier of large ashes to help keep floor
 clean. I was very pleased with my new clean firepalce.

They were unable to fix the problem.  The service technician who arrived admitted after attempting to get our gas fireplace to work that he would need to consult with a colleague as he didn't know how to fix the problem.  He also stated that he needed to order a part as he detected a slow gas leak.  They were supposed to get back to us within a week but we never heard back from the company despite repeated calls.  We finally went with another company who was able to fix the gas fireplace and also informed us that we did not have a gas leak and no additional parts were needed.

"We were hired to fix a pilot which, the client reported, would not stay lit. We repaired that problem. However, our technician did see some other problems, like the flame lifting off the burner, for which he consulted with his supervisor. In addition, our professional grade leak detector did find a small leak at the regulator. We needed to order that part. Before we could return to install the part, client called us and said she was having someone else fix it. Since she put in this review that the other guy didn't find a leak, he probably didn't have as good a detector or tried to use bubbles to find it (a poor handyman technique which may work ok on joints but not on valves). Unfortunately, it probably is still leaking gas into her house ; ( As far as the non-returned calls, I'm not sure what happened there because we ALWAYS return calls. I noticed the phone number was changed in her records on 11/16/13, in the middle of this transaction...perhaps we had the wrong number previously? Another possibility could be timing. The hearth service department is open Tuesday through Saturday so messages left Sunday or Monday are returned on Tuesday. Client paid only $148 for the work we performed. I am sorry she would not let us finish the job. Andrea Reedy, President"

They did a good quality job with the installation and cleaning up afterwards. It took a long time before they installed so from the time we ordered it was like around Christmas we didn't get installed till March so they are very slow in response. They told us they would come earlier, but it didn't and that was disappointing. I would use them again.

We went to The Place to discuss hot tubs.  Donerae was extremely knowledgeable about the different spas available and the available options for each of the spas.  My husband and I were encouraged to sit in the tubs to how it "fit"--a very good idea.
The tub was delivered shortly after we visited the showroom, even with the holidays.

I waited six weeks from the time of the order to the date of installation. The installation was finally scheduled after I made two calls to check progress of the order. The installation took 9 hours and the installer had to leave twice because he "forgot" an item. He did not clamp down the flexible gas line and promised to return in a few days to do so. He never did. The surround was not installed because it had not been received. Installation was scheduled for mid day on a Saturday. The installer was late. The surround had a defect on the finish. Owner called to check on satisfaction and I told her of the problem. She then arranged to have the surround removed and refinished. It was promised to be returned in one week. Two weeks later, I called for a status and was told they didn't have the paint in stock and it would be a few more days. Who knows when they would have done this if I hadn't called. I have taken two days from work already for this.

"We just became active with Angie's list. Reading this terrible job we did makes my skin crawl...even if it was four years ago! We have TOTALLY restructured our fireplace department since then; including a new hearth manager and installers. We have spent a lot of resources in training our new staff. Every member of the hearth team are now certified by the National Fireplace Institute. I trust something like this won't happen again.
